It's good to see so many new Jeepers out there, including myself. Thx for all the support guys and gals..
Having grown up in Jeeps (First a 79 CJ5, then a 84 CJ7 and finally a 86 CJ7) as a kid, I always loved them.
As a kid in college, I full filled a dream to own my own and bought a 97 ZJ.
Drove that until I bought a 04 WJ (and then had the fun of explaining why the Jeep ALWAYS shimmied under braking).
Drove that until my current 09 WK (in which I still have to explain to folks why it shimmies under braking).
It's in the stable with my other toys, and I gleefully look to replacing her with my "Big Boy Toy" with my order of a 14 WK2 Summit CRD.
I've been watching in the last couple years as you all went through hell and back. Going from my WJ to the WK was like a huge step back (lots of cheap plastic and bits that didn't fit well together). I nearly wrote you all off... right up until I saw a 2011 WK interior about a year ago.
Looks and feel like my Merc in the inside, but can climb a damn tree and ask "What's next?".
It's great coming to this forum and seeing the guys that BUILD these rigs taking such pride in them and as excited as we are for them.
I will note, this beast will be doing double duty at my house, replacing not only my 09 WK, but also my Merc (give me room for my 48 Willy I'm restoring)
Imported from Detroit.... indeed.
Well done guys, I look forward to taking the keys of my new Summit in late March and driving her accross country (my dealer is trying to arrange for me to fly out, pick her up at the factory, and drive her back home... to Seattle).
P.S. Also now a paying member of this forum now (I've lurked long enough, figured I should tip in, given how many times I've hit the F5 button...)
