I can't imagine why '11 stuff wouldn't work.

I think then he came over to Chrysler. Not sure if he's still around there or not. Maybe Ralph took his job. Ask Marlon or Chevyboy- they seem to be buddies with him but have yet to reveal any true evidence of that.

I still have a 1994 Toyota 4x4 pickup 22RE engine with about 250K on it. That thing is seriously bullet proof! I don't think I'll ever get rid of it!
My 2005 4Runner (in my pic) saved my life so I can't complain about that year at all.

Hey Temerarius, let me know when you're driving through. If you're going to take 94 through Chicago and Wisconsin and then into Minnesota I can suggest a great restaurant or two in St. Paul that serves up great grub and an excellent pint! I can even join you to check out your new ride. I'm about 20 minutes from St. Paul. You know, the capital of the STATE OF HOCKEY...not just any old hockeytown. HA!
Jim Press has been gone for a while now. Not sure what he is up to now. Cerberus brought him in during the dark days of '07-'09 to fix quality. He didn't seem to do much because quality didn't get fixed until Marchionne and Fiat came along.

One question, are there any changes to the suspension that would effect installation of the current offerings of leveling spacers or lifts? RRO or other brands. I am guessing no, but thought I'd ask.

Whatever is changed/updated, like the QL system for example, will retain pretty much the same suspension geometry, it'll just function better. Many ppl had issues with QL and although they attempted to rectify those issues as best they could, they feel they've got it right now. Structurally this is still the same vehicle. Much of what's changed isn't suspension related, other than an update to QL, so you should be fine in whatever it is you're trying to do, as long as your parts are indeed specific to '11-present. Hope this helps..

It works!.. Or it should work. That's one area there have been quite a few complaints in, which is typical for an advanced new feature, but I'm hearing they've got it all straightened out with some, I believe the term used was "engineering adjustments." And functionality is improved. Idk if that means an increased range of motion, or what exactly, bc a simple supplier change could potentially fix many of the consumer issues. But it should be at least as good as originally advertised. I don't remember seeing any posts abt it, but there may be more descriptive info here somewhere.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

From one of the latest spy photos, I got the impression that there is a scoop in the hood. Can anyone confirm/deny and if there is a scoop, what model(s) does it come on?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

There was talk about speed a few pages ago, the info we have here in Aus is as follows:

All 0-100 times:

V6 pent
9.1

5.7 hemi V8
8.7

3.0 CRD
8.2

6.4 SRT hemi V8
Sub 5.

So the CRD is quicker than the 5.7 hemi. As I have said in a prior post, the CRD does driver really well.

Note: this info is from the MY12 spec sheet.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I can appreciate the claims that the CRD is "faster" or "quicker" than the Hemi, but again, the Hemi does have it's advantages. I think it's really just a matter of preference. But this conversation is comparing apples to oranges.

To be honest with you guys most ppl I talk to that are heavily interested in the CRD aren't especially concerned with horsepower and speed. Torque and fuel mileage are their primary concerns. Pulling their toys. Pulling it's own weight. Being able to smoothly power past other drivers while climbing a steep grade, all the while getting excellent fuel mileage is what they want. Anything beyond that in terms of on road performance is just an added bonus, and not really a purchasing concern.

How's this for a possible "cleaned-up" render of what is going on behind that black tape on the headlights?

Keep in mind the "black" under the headlights near the grill appears to be a plastic-insert (space-filler)...not tape.

Did I get close with it?! Hope you like it!
This hood has a scoop in it except that it faces the driver. I don't know what you call that but it looks mean as

Chevyboy, can you confirm what models this hood is on.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Chevvyboy, Marlon or Milous. Can you confirm if I am on the right wave length here.
In Australia our top range is the Overland which carries all the features of the Overland Summit in the US. Have I picked up from the clues that the "export" Overland will get....Adaptive headlamps, Washers where the plastic tag is under the headlamps, some still to be announced SRT8 features, QL upgrade and more chrome still to be displayed......and Marlon, how is your recovery going?
