Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I mean can we order a non-SRT and get the SRT seats. I understand if we can aftermarket wise.

To be honest with you guys most ppl I talk to that are heavily interested in the CRD aren't especially concerned with horsepower and speed. Torque and fuel mileage are their primary concerns. Pulling their toys. Pulling it's own weight. Being able to smoothly power past other drivers while climbing a steep grade, all the while getting excellent fuel mileage is what they want. Anything beyond that in terms of on road performance is just an added bonus, and not really a purchasing concern.
You are correct, I was happy to purchase the V6 until I drove it, then I tried the CRD and it was much better pulling the weight of the car. Over here it's a $5,000 upgrade for the CRD so it not cheap. But when you add it all together, much better driving experience, better fuel economy and torque, it make for a good package.

Did you drive a Hemi too? If so how would you compare it to the CRD?

European magazins tested the Hemi quicker as well, clearly quicker. I dont know how Jeep comes up with these official figures.

No sorry I didn't. But with the cost of fuel, I would rather the CRD over the V8 unless I was going to buy the SRT. In which case I woulnt care about the cost of fuel as the the SRT is so nice.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Here's the UK numbers:
Jeep Grand Cherokee Model Specification | Jeep UK - www.jeep.co.uk

CRD COMBINED MPG (L/100KM) 34.0 (8.3)
SRT COMBINED MPG (L/100KM) 20.0 (14.1)

CRD EXTRA URBAN MPG (L/100KM) 39.2 (7.2)
SRT EXTRA URBAN MPG (L/100KM) 28.0 (10.1)

CRD EURBAN MPG (L/100KM) 27.4 (10.3)
SRT EURBAN MPG (L/100KM) 13.5 (20.9)

Keep in mind, those MPG are in Imperial Gallons, not US.

In US MPG:
COMBINED MPG
EU CRD 28.339106
EU SRT 16.681885
EPA SRT 14

HIGHWAY MPG
EU CRD 32.668692
EU SRT 23.288572
EPA SRT 18

CITY MPG
EU CRD 22.836367
EU SRT 11.254286
EPA SRT 12

Now, as I said before, the EPA and the EU folks do seem to do their certification testing differently, generally, their highway/combined numbers are higher then ours, and their city are lower then ours (Compare these numbers to the EPA numbers as a reference point).

As such, I'd hazard a guess that the CRD will get a rating of 29MPG on the Highway and 26MPG in the City with the 8speed (10% boost) from the EPA.

Of course, I could be completely wrong (as we all know that Red makes you drive faster, there by reducing your MPG becuase you have a lead foot, and thusly, spend more time idling next to the road when the cops pull you over).

And yes, my job involves looking and working with ALOT of data... I am a numbers nerd...

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

29 MPG isn't enough.
30 is required. That "30" number sells and looks better than "29".

It's like selling a car for $15000, yet backwards, heh.

In order to get people to look at the ad, you need to list the car for $14995.

What else would they used in a economical, mass produced vehicle?? I think all the materials used inside are very nice. Every bit as nice as my E92 BMW was.

Your sig says you drive a Commander so I cannot fathom how you would complain about ANY interior materials.

Sergio even called the XK "unfit for human consumption" Lol

Wood would be a nice touch for Ltd and above but honestly, I think whats there looks outstanding. Everything is great inside. Leather wrapped door arms, shifter, console, steering wheel...and I have a Laredo! My 2011 4Runner was nearly the same $$ and did not even give you leather on the STEERING WHEEL. 100% HARD plastics all over.

Or you can hope the broadcast gets screwed up and SRT seats get installed in your non SRT vehicle.
