I bet you can't tether though, which is too bad, because my wife's company phone is Sprint, and she'd be better off sitting on the roof of the car using smoke signals to communicate with people on the drive from SC to PA.

I mean, just look at JD Power's 2012 regional rankings for Sprint's network quality:
Northeast: Last
West: 2nd to last
North Central: Last
Mid-Atlantic: Last
Southeast: Last
Southwest: Tied for last
Google-ing uconnect info, I read somewhere, maybe sourced from wards IIRC, mention that tethering was possible with "limited functionality". The same article also mentioned that the system would "roam freely" to other carriers as needed. The article was a couple of months old and the only source I found that said this, so not sure how accurate it was.

I'm in Wisconsin and Sprint service is terrible here...

That is shocking. My mother actually has a 2012 SX 3.5L sorento, it screams and gets 32+ on the highway via the computer and gas station calculations. That of course is here at sea level and flat roads. So I would expect the 2.4 to get even better mileage.

I was getting 30MPG from fuel economy.gov so I would assume they calculate and test versus real world owners complaining. Maybe they all live in the mountains lol

Does this production time include the Alpine and other special editions or the standard SRT and colors. Thanks

I just hope that this shifter is not in GC. I know you could see it in one of the early photos.

That is the shifter the GC will have. This has already been confirmed.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I got my hands on that in the 300 at the auto show and I actually like it. Looking at it in images turned me off as well initially, but now after having some hands on I prefer it. Now I do need some long term usage to see if it will still be liked in the long run.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I can speak specifically to the new shifter. I just picked up a Bright White 2013 Chrysler 300 S AWD V6 the other night and HATED the shifter for the first day, as it is somewhat "touchy!" Almost a week later and roughly 300 miles on the car and it is perfectly fine (you WILL need to get used to it). The 8 speed transmission is as smooooooooth as butter! Next up for me is to get rid of the FX35 and pick up the 2014 JCG Overland in summer 2013. Let me know if any of you have additional questions regarding the shifter / transmission, etc.

I test drove and gently beat the hell out of a 2013 Chrysler 300 as well and am VERY impressed with the transmission. The shifter is different but it's better than what I have now.
I haven't heard much about the JCG Overland. Is that a special edition model of some sort?
Sorry, I couldn't resist. I've been picking on people all day because I'm not getting much for new tidbits and I was supposed to order my new Jeep today but someone over must be slacking to hold up production.

Anyone hear from Ralph lately?
