Saying, "Manley is just a marketing guy, nothing more," is the equivalent of someone saying, "Marlon is just a dumb factory worker, nothing more."

I know what goes into my job and the things I do that I take pride in. I imagine Sergio wouldn't have kept him around as CEO of Jeep brand, if he was just a marketing guy. Furthermore, what does it mean to be "just" a marketing guy? Is marketing like basket weaving now or sumn? My point is, Manley's job is just as important as the work we do on the floor, and to discredit him opens yourself up to the same criticisms.

(And FYI, Petit still answers to Manley.)

It's not a one man/woman decision.. But you will see more special edition offerings in this MY cycle.

It will be interesting to see if there is anything with regards to SRT special editions available Jan 9 (or whenever the order bank opens). Or, if they will wait a few months to announce/reveal whatever they may be and open them up for orders... I know the old saying that there is always going to be something better around the corner, but it's going to kill me if there is something that prevents me from keeping my dealer appointment on Jan 9 (...or whatever day that may be). I've already pushed back 2012 and 2013 because I knew the 8 speed and the new electrical systems were going in here

Hopefully the good folks on here like yourself, Milous and the men on the line will have the inside scoop for either scenario when the banks open

What I mean by that is....

That is his department. He's not an engineer.

Everyone knows that the main people that get things moving in the automotive industry are the engineers and us, the people who actually put stuff together. So we're all the ones who others *really* need to talk to, but sadly, it just doesn't go that way.

We are both beyond under-appreciated, and this is coming from someone who does have a little bit, not much, marketing work experience!

We all have a job to do. And personally, you're right. If nobody can market them, then the engineers don't have anything to do and neither do we.

But thing is, engineers can't make anything, if they don't know what they need to make.

I know the 14's have a new power architecture... but will the mirrors with the blinkers on them work on an 11-13'?

I'm in Wisconsin and Sprint service is terrible here...
I honestly remember reading the tethering thing as well, but I didn't think it was a very reliable source.

As for the roaming agreements, yes, Sprint and Verizon have 3G roaming agreements, mainly obviously for Sprint's benefit. I don't know if it stretches beyond phones, but I do not that it only kicks in when there is NO Sprint signal. So you could be rollin around with a 1/2 bar and the roaming agreement won't help you.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I had a feeling that the billet silver wouldn't be the only gray color available. I'm guessing the Granite crystal pearl will be a darker gray without the metallic that the maximum steel and billet has. From what I've seen so far on the colors I would also bet that it is a color that was or is on a 200 or a 300. I'll try digging up an example later on. Gotta run.

Thanks for the update Milous. I know we've all been going crazy waiting for these final bits of info.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Here's the granite crystal color...they have a metallic and a pearl version. This one looks to be the metallic but you get the idea.
This is an interesting developement using a Dodge color for the Jeep brand. I've always thought that Dodge uses the best colors!!!!!

Depending on where you're pulling info from you'll probably see the push back change show up in the next few days. Order allocation will open up the 5-6th of January. Those orders will go into production first week of February. There will be some field/PR ones built the last week of January. Then again maybe we're saying the same thing? Technically there will be some built that last week, but I was under the impression those would not be customer orders.

On another note I'll have a RA3/RA4 review(new radio & info system in the 14 WKs) posted up by this afternoon. Not that you really have much of a choice in radios this time round, but atleast you'll have a heads up on the good and bad.
