Technically there will be some built that last week, but I was under the impression those would not be customer orders.
Honestly, I question where you're pulling your information from. Aren't you the same guy who said the CRD's wouldn't be launched until late in the year? I've known for weeks now that the CRD would be available around the end of the first quarter. (I posted it on here a while back.) I even took the time to count the number of US CRD pilots I saw in Assembly last week, and look for more everytime I go over there. Milous just "confirmed," if you will, the same info yesterday.

You're right in that dates do change, but I can assure you that what's built at the end of January will be sold to the general public. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if some of what we're seeing now make the sales lots. Do you have any idea how many pilots we've built for this model year? I understand you have your sources, but so do we. And mine are in the plant where info is relayed straight from Auburn Hills. Do you work in Auburn Hills? I don't work directly with the numbers, but I know what gets built. And I know how long we've been building it. Beyond that, those I've talked to say, "things are on schedule." And I can physically see the evidence on any given day.

I'm not saying you're waaay off base or anything, so don't take it the wrong way, but please double check your info, cause it ain't jivin' with what's going on in plant is all. I'm sure most here appreciate all the inside knowledge that's given to them, although some apparently don't believe anything until Milous says it, but whatever.. Lets just try to stay on the same page.

This is an interesting developement using a Dodge color for the Jeep brand. I've always thought that Dodge uses the best colors!!!!!
That's funny, I was just at a Jeep dealership trying to find Billet on a Wrangler to look at the color when I came along the above Dodge with Granite Crystal...that is a great color.

Hopefully it doesn't change too much with a pearl finish.

^^
I know in person colors can look much different than they do in a photo. How would you say the Granite Crystal you saw compares to the picture above?

I think they have to go with a Pearl finish because the Max Steel is very gray/black in person with lots of sparkle/metallic fleck!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I would say its similar to the Dark Charcoal of years past ( maybe slighty lighter- it was at night with white flood lights).

I can't put my finger on it, but I don't like some of the finishes of the new Wranglers ie, Commando Green...great color but I'm guessing it's a pearl finish?? just no depth to it and it seems like a "pastel" finish. I prefer the metallic/ sparkle / some depth to it/ paint

p.s. Just did some research - True Blue and Deep Cherry Red (wrangler) are pearl finishes and those are great colors, so maybe its the clear coat? I'm not trying to offend every Jeep color out there .

Yes, pretty much so, although based on prior launches there is always a slow ramp-up for the first few weeks. As chevy stated I believe that many/most of the built units starting at launch (JOB1/Jan 22) will be going to dealers/customers.

Hopefully customers will all be made aware of the caveat I posted awhile back about the fact that these new radios will not be upgradeable/interchangeable from what comes from the factory. The RA4 has a superior navigation system that you don't get when you add the navigation upgrade to the RA3. Fortunately the upper trim level vehicles will come standard with the RA4.

Thanks for the information in advance.

I know of two different versions of the CRD. One tuned and the other.. not so much.

The difference being in the HP and torque the engine puts out.

I'm not sure which version we are getting (I'd assume the tuned), or if we are getting a third alternative.
