Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Have you seen this?

http://www.teknikensvarld.se/jeepmoosetest/

I'm sure Jeep is looking into this and take these things seriously. But I wonder whether things like ESP and suspension are generally improved as part of the mid cycle refresh? Any chance that the 2014 model get the adaptive dampers similar to the SRT model?

Its bunk. Apparently Jeep engineers went there and had thse folks try to re-create that issue and they could not. Apparently the Jeep was overloaded.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Sorry did not see that but I was also wondering whether the suspension will get a make over, maybe adaptiv dampers?

And by the way are there any pictures on how the navigation will look like? 3 D City models etc?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I'm on the verge of possibly purchasing a 2012 WK2 Altitude. I love the look of the black grille, and don't care for the chrome which is on every other model. It's not that much for the parts, under 2k.

But with the change in the 2014, from spy photos, it sounds like they changed the grille a little. So will these altitude parts fit in the 2014? Dealers are all saying there won't be an altitude version in the 2014. I'd love to wait for the 2014, but only if I can get one with altitude black grille, black liftgate handle, and the head lamps with black side walls.

If this is not possible I need to pull the trigger on a current model. What do you all think?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

its hard to know right now...but if they make slight cosmetic changes...I doubt any of the altitude parts will fit. probably the wheels will fit...but nothing is in concrete right now for us to know. get an Altitude while you can would be my advice.

...knowing that the new GC will be using Garming software it will probably look pretty much like the Garmin Nuvi 3790T-3D.

Check out these links:

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Ok. So here's a new question about the 2014 WK2, for Milous I suppose.
Will the 8-speed transmission and / or diesel engine cause any additional intrusion into the passenger compartment, i.e. will the drivetrain tunnel or floorboards change dimensions from the 2011-2013 model?
Sitting in some vehicles is difficult for me because of foot problems and I want to make sure if I can sit in the driver or passenger seat of a current model comfortably, the floor won't change in size, height or angle in the 2014.
Thanks, dtp

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

SInce the diesel is in the current line (just not in the US) and appears to be the same size as the Pentastar, that should not be an issue.

Fitting a fourth planetary in the gearbox case with a gearset that can take over 400 lb-ft of torque may be an issue but can probably be handled with different length driveshafts.

Do not be surprised if the diesel is introed without the eight-speed.

nothing will change in respect to the body for 2014...this is just a mild refresh...no structural changes.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I wonder if they will have some sort of possibility to dechrome the Overlands from factory.

I think I've read that folks from Jeep actually read this site in which case it seems like a lot of the WK2 stuff I read is people trying to eliminate the chrome parts.
