Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Oh no, this makes me think of back about a year ago when Milous posted a pic of an SRT wheel that popped into the system. Does anyone remember what I am talking about? The wheels looked like the Thrust wheels from the Mustang.

All of the above are true, which is why they still put these balloons on the SRT. Still has to have SOME Jeep capability. But increasing the profile (series) from what already comes on the Overlands, just seemed a bit strange to me. I could see it maybe on a Laredo, Limited, and maybe an Overland, but on a Summit!? Idk, maybe I'm the odd man out on this?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Maybe they should put some 24" rims on the Summit like these:
Any chance any of the models will get spinners, dawg?

It is. When I moved here I was still on my restricted bike licence so I brought it with me. I've since got my open licence, but oddly enough 250cc 'sport' bikes don't sell well in a desert with mostly straight roads with 130km/hr speed limits. I'll get it back to the city and sell it eventually.

I think I know the (Mustang) ones you're talking about. My brother has them on his GT. Not the old Bullitt wheels, but the ones off an S195 right? If so, then these are probably the same or similar to what Milous posted. (Anybody got a link to em?)

And seriously, it sounds like buffoonery, but give em a chance. I suspect they'll go over a lot better initially than the current ones did, then everyone will eventually fall in love with them, just like these.

Again, these are NOT the SRT wheels, they just look very similar to them. I'm not going to comment on wheel width at this time. But just out of curiosity, why would you want to put larger profile tires on a Summit? I mean don't get me wrong, you can do whatever you want, it's your car, but that's kind of a weird thing to do with the lux model, don't ya think?
Great, I saw the SRT and assumed the size would be the 295's, so, although I'm not planning on any rock climbing etc I thought they would reduce the offroadability (new word).
You have set my mind at ease by saying that the size has not changed. Thanks

I know it's not a big deal for most people as they never have their GC off road at all but I'm curious to see what the final specs are (angles, cargo space, turn radius, etc...)
Interesting thoughts...I just watched a video on one of the auto web sites comparing three SUV's. A Chevy E. and Ford Explorer and a Jeep Overland, I think but the point is that the Jeep won hands down going up an inclined rocky hill out west somewhere.
Part of it was the Jeep had a better angle of approach for rocky roads/trails. I'm glad it is high enough because a lot of vehicles have the front so low for the aerodynamics they hit the parking blocks...ugh

? Not aware of any "width" changes, 10" for SRT and 8" for all the rest.
