Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

they sell the diesel across the full range here in Australia but obviously demand will be higher for that engine once its available in the US.
For Australia I have heard various dates for the 2014 JGC release anywhere from May to August ! but seems new orders placed from now on are for the new updated 2014 model.

I hope that is the case... but if there is a price change with MY2014, how will the dealers pass this on if a contract has been signed?

Is someone able to give confirmation that no more MY2013's are being built?

Nope.. Couldn't be further from the truth. '13s are what we're currently building daily. '14 pilots get mixed in maybe once a week. But nothing close to production numbers. When we come back after a lil' break over the holidays, then '14s will start to really ramp up, and production should begin at the end of Jan.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Once a week?

Maybe over there in body, but 2014s have been coming down on a daily basis over in assembly. And I do mean daily. I think we built at least 20 this weekend alone.

I wonder if it'll be like the other changeovers?

2013s, line gap, 2014s afterwards.

The 2012-2013 changeover was quite interesting. We built nothing but silver for hours.

I believe DSS sequences them all for build.

Technically, they are both pilot and production at this point. It's hard to explain in non-industry terms.

I was told by Jeep at a dealership in Melbourne they expect $1-$2K price increase so would be $71-$72K for the diesel Overland - plus on roads so around $77K drive away but still about $25K cheaper than an entry level Range Rover ( USA guys are probably chocking right now - yes we pay nearly double what you guys do and US $1 = AUD $1)
