Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I read a lot about the Summit moving further upscale. Does this mean that it will be a separate "model", ie will it still be an overland or "just" a summit? I think if it would not be an overland summit that would somehow devalue the overland trim.

Furthermore, if it would be a separate model I guess the price difference would be much bigger than right now unless the summit does not have all the features as standard which are standard on the overland. It's kind of the same with the overland and the limited-S in Germany. There is nearly no price difference. The Limited-S is the sportier version and the Overland is the more luxurious version.

I would really appreciate it if someone could comment on this as I'm kind of unsure whether an overland or the summit would be the way to go. I know that I could wait for the reveal but that's not why I'm here ;-)

Maybe Marlon or Chevy could double-check, but I'm pretty sure they will have "Overland Summit" badges. In the ordering books it will be listed as a separate model (vs an add-on package to the Overland). Marketing-wise I would think they will continue to use "Overland Summit".

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Thanks Robo. I'd be surprised if the price went up anymore than that.

I'm building a house at the moment, so am counting my pennies, and hoping I'll still be able to afford a CRD Limited..

Thanks! That is what I was hoping for.

Four different interior color choices for the non-Summit Overland models?? Sweet!

The rear-seat mounted dual Blu-Ray DVD players should be an available option at launch. Screens are 4x the resolution of previous models. Possible HDMI input.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

That's great! The color choices have actually been the only relevant difference in the German and probably European market and that was the only reason why I would have preferred the Summit until know. This means I would probably not need to go for the Summit just because of the interior colors, it will really come down to the questions what the other differnces may be :-)

p.s . @ Milous, I guess you are in Europe right now ;-)

Milous so we know of 2 colors definitely returning (black, light frost beige refer to post #2284) and the new Moroccan Sun? that leaves the dark/medium graystone up in the air. hmmmm <ears perked>

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Ok..posting the tidbits again. The front grille of ALL the '14 SRTs is painted gloss black. It is similar to how the Laredo spy pic is painted. Devin says it looks mean as hell.
2) the SRT has a new badge on the tailgate. The "8" is gone and it's in a different script. Looks similar to the script that's on the front grille of the Challengers and the Chargers. Thanks Devin.

Well we have seen a picture of what the new brown looks like (from the RAM picture). Still not sure if that was supposed to be the moroccan sun or not.
If not, that leaves medium graystone out.
If it is, then medium graystone may return.
