They do have "Overland Summit" badging. But I think the reason its listed as a different model, as you said a while back, is bc of the changes to the Summit and they're now unmistakable for each other.

I wonder if it'll be like the other changeovers?

2013s, line gap, 2014s afterwards.

The 2012-2013 changeover was quite interesting. We built nothing but silver for hours.

I believe DSS sequences them all for build.
DSS does sequence the build. That's why when we have pilot days in body, you guys don't assemble them right away. They sit in the bank between Body and Paint until they want to build them. (They don't even get painted right away.)

And there will be a gap in production. That's how it's always done. But it doesn't affect us in Body as much. We'll be back building bodies while you guys are still at home. Once the system is primed, and the corporate heads sound the alarm, then you guys come back, and the next model year starts rolling.

That Ram interior pic was just a point of reference. It's not the same color. The interior color in the GC that's similar is actually darker than the Ram interior. I went to a dealer yesrerday and looked inside one. I only posted it to help ppl see how far from the shade of "saddle" the new (GC) interior is.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Thanks; I found it. The color from the Laramie was about what I was imagining and I had seen that picture elsewhere and made the connection. My hope would be that it is available in the Overland as a version of the saddle currently is.

This is abt the new brown leather interior that's replacing saddle. Let me preface this by saying saddle was my favorite interior color. This is my new favorite. Idk how best to describe it, but it looks and feels richer. Even more luxurious. Again, I'm not a Summit guy (yet), but if I was, I'd pay extra for this. It's deeper. Very close to this; (2013 Ram Laramie Longhorn)

The shading may not be exact, but its close.. Edit: Maybe even a lil darker than this.
Here's the post that I was referencing. I didn't mean to say that this was the exact color but from what the insiders are saying that "New Saddle" won't be available but this is pretty close to the replacement.
Sorry if I confused people. I forget that others haven't seen all of these posts and aren't as obsessed as I am trying to remember all the details.

If not, that leaves medium graystone out.
If it is, then medium graystone may return.
I thought the Moroccan Sun was the new wood trim color which will be an alternative to the black olive ash that was the only choice on the Summit previously.

About that new Summit badge...

I'll check today if I see one but I don't recall seeing "Overland" on it anywhere.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Regardless of how obscene that is, it's only 13 guys out of how many on 3 full shifts. Any business, unionized or not, is going to have a number of really good guys (like we have on the site), a bunch of guys in the middle of the bell curve, and a few goofballs on the bottom. I don't think we can really question the build quality based on these 13 guys, but it is outrageous I'll admit.

They can have my Jeep when they pry it out of my cold, dead hands.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Seriously?? This has already been discussed in the actual thread. Marlon has even stated that those people most likely will never touch your Jeep. People don't think this type of thing happens anywhere else?

This will not detour me and others from ordering a new Jeep. If this actually makes you not want to buy one, then you really weren't going to buy one in the first place..
