That would be correct.

Maybe they are taking the advice of the dream team design team (we know who we are) and making some last minute changes because they are realizing what would be best!

Not really.. I mean it is above average, but one line doesn't build a whole car in any plant by itself. For instance, in Body we're usually around 60/hr. We've been doing around 600-625 per shift for a while now. At the pace Marlon said, they'll assemble well over 700 tonight. But you're talking dozens of seperate lines running independant of each other in certain areas. On the flip side, some days we run like crazy over here, and Assembly runs like crap bc of shortages, and breakdowns, etc. And there's hundreds of QC checkpoints in between. I did some weld auditing for a min myself. They've got this stuff down to a science.. No worries buddy. The GC has always been built here, and didnt get the reputation it has by mistake.

Maybe we will get a Gift for all our ideas that they take from this. I'm thinking a good discount or a nice upgrade is payment. Then we just have to keep up the ideas for them.

Oh shnap! Sure hope the rumblings turn out to be wrong. That would totally suck. How about production startup then?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I thought they have a "shut down" time to retool for the new trannies or something like that. That may take them longer than they had hoped but I'd rather have them do it right

Actually that 3-3.5 weeks we were gonna get off hasn't been spoken of for a while now. I hear they're gonna do "something" while we're off those 8-9 days for the holidays, but again, that wouldn't affect the WKs. But it wouldn't be abnormal for them to put out a bulletin at the last minute days before Christmas saying, "See ya in February!" We could start running 100% '14 WKs tomorrow if they wanted to, and we had the parts. Again, ppl in here say things concerning THIS car, are on schedule. But ultimately HQ makes the call. Most any up fitting at this point is for later launches. This (tentative) delay is an outside issue. Be it supplier issues, or a reworked launch strategy coming down from corporate, etc.

Last I heard the plant was going to be down the weeks of 12/24 and 12/31 and back to work on the 7th. Then the only break between end of '13 and start of '14 would be 4-days @ MLK holiday (Friday 18th through Monday 21st).

So does that mean that the initial information was not correct and the Summits will not be "Overlands" going foward?

I'm not really interested how the models are treated Jeep internally but how the models are presented to the customers. If the Summit gets a different badge that does not mention Overland on it I would say the Summits are no Overlands anymore.
