Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

In Europe there was so far either no Summit available (France), or like in Germany the difference between Overland-Summit and Overland was just:
(i) grill in chrome-mesh design; (ii) fog lights housing in chrome design; and (iii) wheels polished.

We heard from our experts that the 2014 Summit will be more of a self-standing model than just a top-up of the 2014 Overland. Any summary information what the differences between Overland and Summit will be?

Like the WK overlands. Going back to that styling with no black plastic showing.

There is this one WK Jeep that sits in a driveway that I see often in the area that I travel. Thought it was an SRT for the longest time until I took notice to the exhaust and I saw that it was not centered. Realized all the guy did was add a SRT front bumper and rims.

Something I don't understand is, that Audi already has shown us the new RS6 and MB the refreshed E-Class. Both carmakers use Detroit as the start as well.

And what about Jeep with the Grand Cherokee... nothing!

When will they bring out the first information AND pictures?

Saturday's Tidbit (#44.1 rev. B)

This is for everyone who is working on figuring out all of the different headlamp variants that will be offered on the 2014 models... while this feature has been mentioned here, nothing was confirmed until now... both the Summit and SRT models will have Adaptive HID Headlamps as Standard equipment

Adaptive Headlamps
This technology automatically turns the headlamps in the direction you're steering, giving you improved nighttime driving visibility. It also computes your speed and steering wheel angle to determine headlamp projection ó straight ahead, 7 inches inward, and 18 inches outward. For better visibility on sloping paths, the system incorporates an automatic leveling feature, which aligns your vehicle-to-road pitch.

Don't know about France yet (close though, Uk & Germany = yes).

Regarding the 19-spkr premium audio system, barring any last minute changes, it will be Standard on the Summit, Optional on the SRT, and not available on any other models.

Milous,

with the new dark brown interior of the Summit.

In which color will they bring out the Headliner (brown as well; black or unfortunately in silver)? I've read one time, that the Headliner will come out in Suede... is that true (that would be extremely chic)?

And what about the floor space color?

Thank you, Milous! The Summit gets more and more interesting. I wanted to order an Overland but now the Summit is gaining. If France doesn't offer the Summit (I would be surprised if they don't unless the upgrade their Overland to a full Summit fit-out), I would be tempted to buy in Germany ( I am German). It is only the paperwork of registering the car in France (our summer place, my wife is French) that is annoying.

Interesting, how will that play out. You have said before or someone has said, that for AU the Overland is basically a Summit, will that mean the Overland will be cheaper and not so optioned, and the Summit will basically be what we know as an Overland?
