Forgot to mention my enthusiasm for the new interior colors. The Indigo is Overland only, but the new darker brown is for which trims? I've been a big fan of the Ram's Laramie Longhorn Brown interior though I forget its actual color name. That should look great if the dash/IP/steering wheel is also brown. Maybe I need to have mine built one piece at a time like Johnny Cash used to say.
I'm bored, and there's no more football to watch, so what can I say..

Anyway, the lack of a full chrome "grille" is reflective of the new design. This grille design basically spans the entire front of the truck from the center "grille" section to under the headlights. So it'd look awfully gaudy if done in all chrome, not to mention with the chrome in the headlight bezels. Some already have said (although prematurely) that the gray on the Laredo is too much. So can you imagine what the Summit, if done in all chrome would look like? Especially in direct sunlight! Opposing traffic would be blinded and end up crashing and running off the road into ditches, and all kinds of crazy stuff! So yea, I imagine after a few closed-course tests, they decided against that..

As for the interiors, that complete chocolate brown interior you're referring to ("Moroccan Sun" I believe it's called), may be exclusive to the Summit. That isn't to say the seats alone won't possibly be available in other trims, but I don't think that complete interior will be in anything other than the Summit. I doubt they'd get a matching dash. Although the Indigo interior Milous introduced the other day DOES have a brown leather wrapped upper dash. But I don't know that it's the same. And as far as I know, THAT interior layout is exclusive to the Overland. I imagine Milous will have some solid interior trim info coming soon..

"Moroccan Sun" refers to the dash/door trim applique, available on Laredo, Limited and Overland. Summit models will have a variant of that called "Copper/Moroccan Sun".

I must say it leaves a bit of a bad taste in my mouth with the two dealers I have been talking to, I had specifically asked if they knew when the upgraded media console and 8 speed would be available, and they both claimed to have no idea.
I know what you mean. My son won't seek a job in sales because he basically thinks you have to be dishonest or misleading to get results. I have tried to tell him the importance of "ethics" which I believe will make you a more successful sales person in the long run. A few weeks ago when trying to find out info about the My14 I found one dealer went out of his way to help. Others were a little disinterested but one was quite sarcastic and very unhelpful merely saying to me, "why don't I just wait for the My15". Needless to say I won't be buying any cars from this city dealership (salesman's name withheld).

As Chevy has said, they really don't know. They don't even know when they will land here, Milous said we should see them around April/May but dealers are saying July. They have no idea what changes are coming or what trim levels we are getting.

Keep your eyes here if you want to know what is going to happen.

But again, most dealers I've talked to seem legitimately ignorant to what's coming. I've actually talked to an owner of a dealer, who was planning on buying/giving an Overland Summit to his new son-in-law for Christmas, but said he'd wait and give him a '14 cause he kinda likes the guy. Lol.. But before we spoke, he said even he knew nothing about it.

And fyi; You have to remember, annual sales of this vehicle alone probably quadruple the number of members on this site. So MOST people out there are still in the dark (dealers included).
Chevyboy, I still think its wrong. A good salesman would make it his business to know. I saw a person I know two days ago in the main street of our town. I walked over to comment on his Limited Jeep GJ which he said he only bought yesterday. I told him I was waiting for the "refreshed" version being released next January when he chirped up, "this is the "refreshed model...the My13". I then realised he might be very disappointed if I went on to tell him about the My14 with all its improvements so I backed off and congratulated him on his purchase. He has paid a lot of money for a car that will be superseded very shortly. I feel he should have been given a choice and if he did not want to wait then ok.....let him buy it. But I bet the salesman knew. There are salesmen out there that will sell you a car without telling you that the new model will be in the display room the next morning. It's just not right. Sorry, but that's just me.

Thanks Milous! As always this is highly appreciated!

Can you comment on dash/door trim applique options for the indigo blue interior? I know that you wrote it comes with brown/wood trim but is there any chance that one can also get something black? I really like the combination in the current summit!

If I would have to guess I would think that there will be no option for another trim but maybe I'm wrong

@ the guys who build GC: Would any of the black olive trims from the 2013 models fit on the 14 model?

Thanks again I love this information as it really gives me comfort that I do not need to go for a Summit to get a bit more color in the interior. This is really important to me.

Since I'm not sure about the rear of the summit in the spyshots I would currently think I will prefer the overland (but let's wait for pics), the overland will probably still keep more of the rugged look of the current version which I like a lot. The summit seems to develop more towards a ML or something like that. Nothing wrong about that but this maybe to much for me.

As far as I know the Indigo Blue interior will only offer the one applique color. Black Olive trim will be returning on the '14 Overlands.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Thanks for the clarification on the interior colors (prelim) and the grill details per model.
It's all coming together now- I'm going to guess the next tidbit will be the finalized exterior colors. Maybe that'll be our early Christmas present this week.

Milous,
I asked you already one time. That Copper/Moroccan in the Summit... what about the color on the Headliner. Is it brown too (like for example the Porsche Cayenne has) or in classical silver? And the material, is it Suede?

Thanks in advance.

Hi webber, I must admit I feel the same way. I just don't get how anybody can be in a job like sales and not be interested enough to just Google the latest info on their product. I just don't buy it that everyone in the whole dealership is clueless about what they are selling, surely someone would mention it over coffee.

On the flip side, being a salesman must be an ethical nightmare, you have to sell the stock that you have only had for a few months before the new model arrives. If someone is happy to buy what is in the showroom, I can see why they wouldn't shout out to the customer that they must be crazy as the new model arrives next month. However, if someone asks you directly if a new upgrade is imminent and you blatantly lie about it, that's pretty hard to defend.

Ultimately you have to give them the benefit of doubt and assume they really don't know, if only for the sake of your own sanity. I guess it's up to the purchaser to put in a bit of research before parting with their hard earned cash.

Caveat Emptor!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Milous, I was wanting Light beige or frost in my Summit. Do you know whether the Australian Summit will be restricted to black and or Brown interior or will a buyer be able to order the light frost (beige) with an Australian order
