Whoops! Sorry I meant in regards to the information on the new screen. The SRT8 gets all the performance info, but it'd be nice if the non SRT models, or those with terrain response got some more real time information on the screen about what the 4x4 system is doing.

This was posted earlier, the SRT Screen from something else

And something like this would be nice, this is from a Land Rover.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

In this forum and other places were owners' reports about problems with their new GC in sand mode. Problem reported was the loss of the front wheel drive, which caused the car getting stuck in sand. It was recently reported that Jeep had a preliminary fix for this by a software flash but that a formal TSB was still undergoing approval process in the US. Affected owners so far got the preliminary fix on a case by case basis when they complained directly to Chrysler (or had a supportive dealer).

After that long introduction, now the question: Will this sand issue be fixed permanently and taken care of for the MY2014 GCs, or do we directly have to address this with the dealer when taking over our new car? The difficulty is that the issue has appeared with many GCs but not with all.

Appreciate any advice.

I hope not ... To me the deadline is Friday May 24, 2013 around noon. Every year we take some time off and go to Cape Hatteras for a week around that time. It is a long drive from NYC and my current truck is just to old for the trip. If I can get the CRD by unofficial start of summer I will wait, if not than will have to compromise and get V6.

@Guennik, I spoke to this a while back.. I hear those issues and some others have been corrected through "engineering adjustments."

Chevy, many thanks. Although I have become a Jeep Garage junkie I must have missed your earlier comment!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

dont you all think the ecu will be another complete different set up to prevent the abuse of the diesel engine? If it is im guessing it will be the same across the map for all the WK2s

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Can anyone of you Aussies on here recommend a Jeep dealer in Melbourne? I get told all sorts of BS when I ring them.. the latest BS I was told is that the Diesel is too strong for the 8 speed auto so not coming to Australia and if they get it to work would be in October 2013 !!! " so buy my demo now for top dollar as there is high demand for this vehicle " blah..blah...

My advice: read this forum THEN approach the dealers. Measure their response to your enquiry against your own knowledge gained from Jeepgarage. You will soon sift the wheat from chaff.
The most reliable knowledge on the subject will always be your own if gained from reliable sources founded on truth and integrity.

Yep, most Aussie dealers are using the Manuel trick, "I know nothing!", "I'm from Barcelona"

I kept trying dealers until I finally found one who knew all about the 2014MY, he stated there was still no official info from Chrysler/Jeep Australia, but he had been reading the info on various forums too.

Nice to find someone who showed a bit of interest in what they were selling, so I was happy to work with him on a deal.

It sounds like the same line I got from a City dealer.... I have a very good contact that I will PM you, not messing around and while he cant comment on some of the info I have from here, as the dealers are being told nothing. He is not BS'ing.
