Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Hey Chevy can you tell us if the Oz MY14's will come with front recovery hooks?

Their omission from the MY12's was cause for much Oz disappointment. Sure hope the design crew were able to satisfy the pedestrian safety mob with a re-engineered solution.

Short answer: No (I can't tell you if they will or not.)

Long answer: Because I have no way of knowing what goes where right now, it's hard to say definitively yes, or no. I can easily identify the exports, but Germany for instance may get something that Australia won't. Right now with no build sheets, I can't tell which is which. But what I can do is check all the exports I see on Friday morning to see if ANY are missing tow hooks? That may help... OR you can just wait until Milous wakes up from his power nap, and he can tell you, bc he probably has that info close by.

Maybe Chevy can double-check some of the RHD's via a visual to make sure, but from what I know it looks like no dice

Thank you for the info, one clarification request if I may?

I plan to order a 2014 SRT as soon as I am allowed but you know dealers, they are often last to know details until made official (Detroit show?). Will the 6.2L supercharged be offered along side the 6.4 at launch?

I know you'd said summer 2013 for other srt models, just clarifying.

Any ballpark guesses on price points or model # for ordering?

thank you in advance

I knew those 4jeepdiesel! lol I just meant like an actual two-tone leather seating option instead of the single tone available now.

Thanks for that Chevy and sorry to disturb Milous' power nap but thanks to him also.

I was also wondering if the floor pan used is the same for both RH and LH drive models .... Reason being, on RH models, left leg foot room is a little compromised. I suspect that it has been 'tweaked' to give optimum driver leg room in LH models .....any comments guys?

Sorry...I misunderstood what you were asking. It's hard to keep track of who read what and all of that etc...

Phew!... 347 pages.

Just wanted to say hello (first time post) and thanks to all in this thread for the valuable information and opinions on the '14 JGC. Definitely helps having this info when trying to decide between a '13 or '14. Looking forward to more tidbits and views.

Cheers

Underbody 101;

Both the front and rear floor pans are identical in both RHD/LHD applications. The front rails, dash panel (firewall), and dash reinforcement are the ONLY RHD/LHD application specific parts in the underbody structure. All of these parts have been SLIGHTLY redesigned for '14 WKs.

The front floor pan, which you're referencing, is practically identical to the current '11-13 pan in terms of physical design. The difference comes down to mere millimeters of adjustment, and stud/bolt hole changes.

The '14 has the same legroom of an '11-13.
