Indeed an interesting choice of words. Hopefully not playing with words. Great that you took the initiative to contact Chrysler on this. I will wait till Chevy or Marlon, or even Milous from his Olymp, will help to interpret the meaning of Chrysler's sybillian answer.

Snooka is on a distinguished road
Well clearly this is another instance of trying to determine what the definition of "is" is

Don't know how true it is, but I've heard that it is indeed real leather, but it's layered/treated in a process for extended durability and quality of finish, while remaining porous for ventilation.

Kinda like a scotch guarding process I guess.. But better.

Anyway, Merry Christmas folks!

I hope everyone gets everything they want, and wants everything they get. And if you don't, act like you did, cause there's always somebody else who'd love to be in your shoes. God bless... (And remember the reason for the season.)

Note: I get tend to get spiritual when I drink.. I'll shut up now. Peace...

Maybe it's 'Poltrona Frau' leather from Italy, like Alfa Romeo, Maserati and Ferrari use.

Smells fantastic and the feeling is fabulous!

Unfortunately I believe it is wishful thinking. Who knows ... it's Christmas!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Hey 4jeep and everyone else who's hoping for an orange: what do you guys think your "fallback" color choice would be in the event that no orange is offered?

I just went to the local dealership today (twice actually; once when it was cloudy, and again a little later when the clouds went away and the sun was out) so I could look at some colors without any pressure and without getting any salesman's hopes up.

They had white, silver, black, black forest green, blue, and red. No mineral gray or maximum steel unfortunately.

Anyway: I love, love, love the black forest green... when I can actually see the green. The problem is when it was cloudy I could barely tell the difference between it and black. It was also really hard to tell it was green when the sun was shining (the skies weren't blue so the sun wasn't as strong as it could be, so that could have something to do with it), but after I walked around the vehicle I was able to look at it at just the right angle and wow that green "pop" really is killer. But my concern is that it'll be a rare occurrence that I'll actually be able to see the green. It's still in the running though.

The other two I really liked were true blue and deep cherry red. Between the two I preferred the deep cherry red (I'm pretty sure). But it looks like it's not been confirmed whether or not deep cherry or some other red will be available for the 2014s.

I'd also really like to take a look at maximum steel. Mineral gray too, but it looks like that might not be available for the 2014s either.

So for me it would probably be a choice between true blue, black forest green, maximum steel, and some sort of red if it's offered (with red being a pretty common color in general I still maintain I'd be surprised if one weren't offered).

By the way, Merry Christmas everyone.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I have a red jeep now & would like a change. The max steel is very unique but may be too dark for me- not sure yet. The sapphire blue by name should be a deep purply blue but instead it's closer to the winter chill powder puff blue of last year.

I really liked the rugged brown & I do like maroon so I'm curious to see the deep auburn in person. Online it looks like it belongs on a minivan.

If that one isn't my style I might just have to go with the max steel or the billet- I guess it depends on what model I want- maybe a special edition or even a trailhawk if it's available. I'm also fine with Trueblue. I do not want black or white for sure & the same goes for cashmere- that's the color that I wouldn't even paint my toilet bowl.

There are other vendors also using the designation "Natura Leather" for their real leather products, so the name does not seem to be a protected trademark. We'll find out soon, and Devin has already given some possible hint.

I hope you are right. On their home page the header shows "TM" after the name, but who knows?
