In Europe we had the power folding mirrors on the overland as well, trust this will not Change for MY 2014.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

One further question for those who own a GC already. Are the windshield washers in the GC heated? I hate it when the washer are frozen on my 300C. Thanks for your info in advance!

They are not. Had that feature in my Escalade and it was nice. Problem was it was attached to an Escalade. You did have to wait a bit for the heated fluid however so of limited usefulness when driving.

Thanks! Interesting, i thought the jets would usually be heated, not the water as the fluid should be warm feom thenengine heat.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Not in the GM pruducts. The system heats the fluid, not the jets. Yet if you're driving 70mph on a cold snowy day the hot fluid does you no good at all. Didn't use the system much at all.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Call me old-fashioned or "archaic", but my experience (albeit limited) with electronic parking brakes has not been pleasurable. Before I'd be sold on something like that I'd prefer to be comfortable with their reliability and serviceability. As far as I'm concerned we have far too many nannies and gadgets as it is with most vehicles today.

Regarding the GM heated washer fluid, the manual indicates that for proper function of the system that a de-icing washer fluid must be used in the winter months. My Duramax has the system (never let the dealer 'fix' it after their silly recall) and it works fine for me. Actually, I've found its best application is cleaning off bug splats

I agree. Although I don't find a handbrake lever to be adding to the aesthetics of a car/truck's center console, it seems to me that it remains the most straightforward setup, and it still allows it to be used for one of its original purposes, which is emergency brake system in case of failure of the main brakes.
With "emergency" and "brake" in the same sentence, I like to keep things as simple as possible, reducing potential sources of malfunction.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Since we are waiting we maybe have time to ask some questions which came to our minds when thinkng about the information we received yet.

When thinking about the interior changes I was wondering whether the upper part of the steering wheel would still be partly wood in the overlands. Marlon, Chevy can you share with u what you have seen?

I also asked earlier whether the Wood inlays in the dash could be exchanged between the 14 MY and previous model years? I really liked the black olive wood but I think I will not get in the overland with Indigo interior (which I really want). As my wife hates wood in a car I may need to change that. I think we could seetle for black olive ;-)
