Somebody mentioned that LEDs will be like the ones on Chrysler 200. If you look closely you can see LEDs strips on the inside edges of the headlights. That was the reason for black tape on spy pictures posted earlier on.

Here is a photo of 200 for referance:

Why do you attack people on your forum so much? You don't want people around?

Anyway seems the compass actually looks a little better as the wing parts under the headlights are part of the large front panel and not just grille.. I'm hopeful that ill like the 14 GC better than the current model when pictures are released.

This could just mean leds are optional on the Limited. Just a thought.

The pics of the white limited do not have the same headlights as the blue limted that was spotted weeks ago.

Completly different. http://blogs.automotive.com/spy-shot...-photos-front/

I didn't get to snap a pic or investigate the interior too much due to a embarrassed wife but it did have a screen smaller than a 430n. Attached the only 2 pics I could snag.

Thanks for sharing! I agree with the others -- in these pictures I think the front end does look kind of weird, at least at first and second glance. Rear end looks fine to me.

I think part of the problem is the front end is so shockingly different from what the 2011-2013s look like. A bigger of the problem (and I'm not faulting you for it bossk) in my opinion is the angle and lack of context with the rest of the vehicle. The color probably has something to do with it too. The chrome isn't bold/thick enough to provide "enough" contrast with the white paint.

I think the new front end looks way, way, way better in the spy shots that can be seen on AutoBlog/LeftLaneNews (here) and MotorTrend (here). Especially with the gray grille.

PMD - Correct, the white and blue dont have the same lights and that was a Limited as well.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I dotn think the front end is much different from the 11-13...EXCEPT the line where the grill is cut now on 14's...where before it was just a design. maybe its a functional cut? Now maybe we can remove the grille to remove the headlamps for instance....unlike now the entire front bumper needs removed. thats just in theory by the way.

I think you're right. When I said "front end" I really meant the grille. That is indeed quite a bit different on the 2014s.

Anyway, half an hour ago when I first saw bossk's photo of the front end I had a bit of an "oh shit" moment. Did I just wait all this time for something that might turn out to be a lot uglier? Should I just get a 2013 instead now, even though I really want the 8 speed, LED tail lights, and all the other improvements?

But then I took a look at the Autoblog, LeftLaneNews, and MotorTrend spy shots from a month or two ago again (see the links in my post from a few minutes ago) and felt so, so much better. If the 2014 ends up looking like what it looks like in those photos, and from all accounts it will, then I'm totally down with it and will be glad I waited.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Now I'm just a little worried as to what the production startup date will actually end up being... Pat's info and Milous' lack of response is slightly disconcerting.

Fingers crossed that if it is moved, it's moved only slightly. I don't care about the order bank open date, just the production start date.

If Jeep is anything like Microsoft, Milous is probably not getting much info as the place is a ghost town.

We're dead here from about Dec 20 until Jan 3 or so.

As for the looks, honestly, I'm not shocked. The days of flat/assertive front ends is coming to an end. Especially on carmakers that share a platform and design on a global scale.

It means the design has to meet the most stringent design requirements. In those case, probably NCAP for the EU (specifically around pedestrian impact).

I suspect it's also done for improved aerodynamics to increase MPG (to meet the required CAFE standards here in the US as well as China and the EU).

Hell... wait a few more years, your door mirrors will be gone completely...

I'm inclined to believe that a REAL special edition MAY be coming late summer/fall in CY 2013. This could be what's being called the "Hellcat," but nobody (I know) is sure yet. As Scott said, some say later on, like MY '15, some say Q1 CY14, still being a MY14, and some say this coming fall.. So I'm kinda stuck. I'd hate to order in Jan. and miss out in say 8mo-1yr, bc I can't afford to keep flipping cars. I don't have it like that. Nor do I need that kinda attention. There's just too many other causes in the world I could throw money at. But I DO want what I want.. Feel me?
