Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I don't know if its the white on the Limited (stripped limited as Milous called it) shown or if that's really a Laredo X, as there was no chrome on the lower front fascia, but in any case when Robo_70 did the comparison between 14,13 and Compass the 13 definitely stood out. All I can say is wow. I guess we should be thankful the compass three hole cut out didn't make it to the bumper in the GC? Maybe its just the white? As I agree with others, the other spy shots looked better.

Just my guess here. At least some sales people must have enough interest to follow what's going on on the internet. However, since they represent the company they cannot discuss anything until cleared to do so, or at least until it was made official.

How would you like to be the salesman who told a potential customer in November to come back on Dec. 5th and order a '14. Then, on the 5th tell them to come back on Jan. 9th. Oops, better make that February. I would be a very unhappy salesman and an irate "former" customer.

Bill_de, I won't keep rattling on here because I will be boring readers so this is my last comment. From what you are indicating here is that knowing what you now know YOU would have been quite happy to have had that Salesman sell you the retiring model?????

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Webber,

No, I would not be happy at all. That was one of the reasons I chose to become a paid member here. I felt I owed that much because it was this forum, not the Jeep dealer, that kept me from buying the '13.

What I was saying is that at the salesman level they may not have a choice.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Webber,
I sympathies with your ethical stance on this, but can understand the company point of view also.
I actually placed an order and paid a deposit on a MY13 Laredo in November and then found this site and discovered the pending advent of the MY14. It took some time before my dealer could agree on the impending new model. I had cooperation from the dealer to switch to MY14.
Now here's the other side of story..... What if the new model gets a price hike? Do I complain that the dealer quoted price should be honored? Will I feel cheated out of the proven MY13 with the more "aggressive front" and "better looks"? What if delivery is not until August as some are suggesting?

And then there is the MY15 which will be up for discussion by that time. Should The company be ethical and tell me to hang off for the MY15?

Milous did just that in one of earliest tit-bits when in a couple of words ... He said "wait for the MY14". That was good enough for me ... Thanks Jeepgarage!

Here's a tidbit about the hellcat (it sure ain't the Detroit Lions )

Your simply not working hard enough. Work harder. Maybe you'll get luckier.

Milous,

Any idea if the 8 speed and new radios might make it into the Wrangler in the near future?

Thanks,
