Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

perspective from someone totally new to the Jeep thing: I was waiting for the chance to order a 2014 after test driving the 2013, but honestly one of the big things I liked about the Jeep thing is the styling:

and now this front-end is a good deal less unique IMO

It is starting to get uncomfortably close to this ladies suburban conveyance:

no matter how the headlamps end up.

the body colored "smile" and the loss of those chrome jail-cell bars is a step backward! The diamond mesh is gone as well.

Obviously the 2013 models on the lot will be a good deal easier to negotiate soon.

will the 8 speed by any longer legged?
Will the updated center stack be worth losing that front-end?

I was sure before now, now, not really sure

Does anyone know how good the Range Rover Evoque SD4 4wd Auto is. That would be my next choice. The 11-13 JGC had a point of difference in the market place with that great grille which has now been softened to just another car. At least the Range Rover Evoque has something quite different in its styling. I am really hoping Chevvyboy is right and this Summits going to knock me over. Everything appears so good about this Jeep until they modified the grille.
I looked at the Evoque, it is a very nice car, nice finish and looks quite different... But, it is very very small, for me it was too small.

Yeah, thanks for your thoughts JKAU.....and only 4 cyclinders but a very nice and different car the Evoque which is what we did have in that Jeep Grille. However, Chevvyboy is really impressed with the Summit so I am hoping a "rabbit" is going to be pulled from the bag soon and I will love it...or I am going to try and like it otherwise I really have to look more seriously at that Evoque which would be disappointing having waited so long for the MY14. Thanks again.

If the summit really is going to look that good, i might have to get the limited and do a front end swap, if its possible. I simply cant afford a summit here in Europe. They are much more expensive than the US.

Shouldn't be too hard, the charity event usually isn't crowded and certainly not at the Jeep area.

If you see the Jeep brown and Indigo Overland interior I would be interested in seeing this. Something sounds intriguing about it.
Thanks!

I would be most interested in this as well! It sounds great although there is very little detail available to us so far.

I did like the interior so far so I trust that Jeep will get this right too. I wasn't sure whether I should go for a summit or a regular overland for a while. But with this color combination only available on the Overland it will most likely be an Overland. It is really cool that Jeep offers some more unusual options as the number of options is generally rather limited (which is fine with me).

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I was doing some searching to find better images of paint colors and I came across the site called paintref.com

Below is one example of one of the tentative/unconfirmed colors for the 2014's.

Deep 2012 Chrysler - Paint Cross Reference Auburn&name=chrysler2002012auburn

Just thought I'd share this with y'all b/c color confirmation one of the final things we're waiting for.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

When will we see that options available for each trim level? In particular the Overland Summit? I'm hoping we might see this before Jan 8th's tentative order day. What about pricing and pricing of options? Any news on when we will see that as well? Sorry if this has been asked before.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Milous and Scott will probably be only able to give that information. Pricing might not come until after NAIA. Options, should be available when the banks open. According to the OP's post, that is either Jan 8th or Feb 5th.

Your waiting for information that we all are.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Ok. Thats what I figured. After looking at the re-fresh over the past 30 days the new changes are growing on me and plan to order one and do the Summit this time around. Time will tell. Thanks for the feedback.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

After doing more digging I was able to find the full page of the 2014 color codes for Chrysler. There's a color on there that I don't recall being listed before called "Granite Crystal" Very similar to Mineral Gray.

Also, all you red fans out there, the deep cherry red crystal is also listed (again, all of these are NOT confirmed). You can click on a color and it'll give you many images of that paint on a vehicle.

2014 Color Codes - Chrysler Paint Cross-Reference

This might give you guys/gals something to look at on an otherwise blah day here on JG waiting for more info.
