I really like the massive nav-screen. You can also see the screen within the speedometer - or at least a part of it.

I hope that screen is shaded, so it is useable in bright sun with the roof open.

Looks nice... the shot of the dashboard is good.

Unfortunately the button looks a bit cheap... hope in the final version it got a nicer surface.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Sweet baby Jesus I am getting excited over all the news coming in.

If there was a slight HP bump for the SRT in this refresh (which there isn't, I know) then I'd really lose it!

In regards to HellCat down the road.. I'm thinking 2015/2016 if they do it. Added to a 6.2 of course, this would provide the necessary HOWDOYOUDO to dethrone Porsche Cayenne Turbo or at least make it damn close. I'm assuming launch the same year or year after SRT brings us the new Barracuda (2015?).

Two more weeks to figure out Black or Granite Crystal Metallic Clear Coat.

After seeing some of the photos of Challenger with the GCMC paint - daaaamn. I might just have a winner.

Buildout is still scheduled for the 17th with the 2014 launch on the 22nd. I don't believe this will change.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Milous you said - The ZF HP70 (used for CRD and Hemi models) will continue to be purchased from ZF and at some point in the future I would expect Chrysler will build them in Kokomo (probably as "870RE").

So there are two different 8 speeds at launch? the ZF HP70 is what is in the Land Rover Discovery 4, BMW X5 etc

Some wiki info about it and Chrysler mentions. Probably old info but anyway - ZF 8HP transmission - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

oh and it has the balls to handle the torque from the Fiat/VM Motori diesel as some nay sayer dealers have mentioned " the 8 speed cant handle the torque" what BS.
name max. gasoline torque (Nm) max. diesel torque (Nm) example
8HP30 300 300 -
8HP45 450 500 BMW 1 Series (F20) BMW 5 Series (F10)
8HP70 700 700 BMW 7 Series (F01) BMW X5 (E70)
8HP90 900 1000 Rolls-Royce Ghost[22]

Current CRD is only 550Nm and this is rated to 700..

anyone for a 8HP90?

Ok,

herr in Switzerland as you know we have the Diesel.

It got a torque of 550 Nm.

Fiat Suisse SA offers a Tuning with full guaranty. With the Tuning the engine comes up to 275 HP and a best effort in torque of 620 Nm.

So the new ZF gearbox is strengh enough for that power.

Yes, 845RE for V6 and 8HP70 for CRD & Hemi.

Happy with that as its a tried and tested transmission.. as long as they tune it right to work with the engine.

620Nm would nice ! They are usualy tuned very conservatively from factory anyway

Seems the 2014 might pick up some more torque/power if they go with urea /blue tech like the euro diesels beleive this was mentioned somewhere but in ft/lb and im a metric guy so cant convert it !
