What would it matter where it's built?

If it's the same design, what does it matter if it's built by ChryFi in the US or ZF in Germany?

And for that matter, the only tranny I've had issues with in a Jeep product was the Merc one they put in my WK.

I agree with Gigi. I think the buttons look cheap!
Overall not looking good for me trading up, especially just after visiting the land rover dealer and checking out the range rover sport!

I'm pretty sure that ZF is also building them in the US.

I do agree as well but I think the photo itself is not the best quality one and quite blurry. Might look different in person or on better photos. I would not judge quality from it.

In the US they are about 40% higher than the Overland depending on options but I don't know what kind of discounts they typically go for either. But in any event no, not even close.

ZF will be building them for the V8/CRd for a time in Germany. The V6 will be made by Chrysler at the Kokomo plant. So anyone getting a V6 2014 will get the tranny from Chrysler.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Yeah in the states the Jeeps are well priced (obviously a US car) whereas here in Europe they are alot more expensive than in the US, bringing them closer to range rover territory.
Also, not sure about the states, but here there always doing great deals on land rovers.
I had my heart set on a RR sport, that the dealer was going to give me a 7000 euro discount on, whereas the jeep dealer i had really squeeze to get 500 off!
Dont get me wrong, i love the jeep, but ultimately the reason we got the jeep was because of my wife!

What is ZF doing with their new tranny plant in South Carolina?
