Maybe that is where other manufacturers are getting their trannies from and maybe where the V8/CRD will be getting them from. The V6 was suppose to by manufactured by Chrysler at their Kokomo plant...

If I'm wrong, I apologize.

I'm not saying you're wrong, I was just curious. There was a press release talking about how ZF had been building for other Chrysler products and at the end said;

"ZF invests in transmissions for North American market
ZF is investing $350 million and providing approximately 1200 new jobs in Gray Court, S.C., where the company is building its first North American passenger car transmission plant. Beginning in 2013, the 975,000-square-foot facility will manufacture 8- and 9-speed automatic transmissions for the North American market."

I thought it might be to supply Jeep.
But you would have better sources of info than I do ... for sure.

Yeah... over here, for say, a MB GL350 BluTech, that's fitted out to be similar to a Jeep Summit, the difference is $30,000+ difference (about $51,000 for the Jeep compared to around $82,000 for the Benz).

Land Rover doesn't offer a diesel here, but the closest thing price wise to a Jeep Summit edition with the Hemi is a base LR4.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Looks similar to the older one. The bigger screen brings the knobs too close to the bottom of the screen.

It also looks like the picture in the post below has a compartment door open, making the stack appear too short.

I'm guessing that the blue around the knobs are for night when the cabin is dark. That's what my current vehicle has on it's Alpine system.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

My only complaint is the plastic bezel around the radio which looks cheap like the one in the Ram/300. Hopefully it has improved from those models, but still not a deal breaker for me. Showed this to my wife and she's just as excited as me for the upcoming show for the full reveal.
