Then, say that upon delivery of the vehicle to the dealer, Jeep is offering bonus cash and a rebate as well. Is the dealer "obligated" to sell the vehicle at invoice minus bonus cash and minus rebate, since Jeep is "paying for" the bonus cash and rebate rather than the dealer?

If there are rebates available at time of delivery you can take advantage of them.

Chrysler has a sold order incentive protection program that allows the customer to protect incentives at time of ORDER and also gives the customer the option of keeping the incentives at time of ORDER or take the incentives at time of DELIVERY.

Here's the rules for PRICE and INCENTIVE Protection:

Price Protection
Price Protection is available on sold orders to protect the customer from price increases which occur between the vehicle order date and the KZ (invoice) date. A claim for Price Protection must meet the following criteria:
The sale must be documented by a signed and dated buyer’s order which details the agreed upon selling price at the time of order and secured by a customer’s deposit with receipts at time of order. Dealer must print and retain the Order Confirmation
Ordered new for immediate production, or selected from dealer stock orders not yet invoiced, and delivered to the original customer

Must be delivered within 14 days of the date the vehicle is received at the dealership (KZX date)
Must be delivered to the customer whose name is on the factory order and subsequent factory invoice at the documented agreed upon price at time of order
You must claim Price Protection by inserting the price protection program number on the Exception Claim Entry Screen when reporting the sale. Program numbers are in the Pricing Announcements and stored in DealerCONNECT eFiles under Sales.
Price Protection claims are made via "DealerCONNECT > Sales > Incentives Claims Processing > Incentive Claim Entry > Exception Claim Entry"
Sold Order Consumer Incentive Protection
This program protection may be available when a vehicle is sold or ordered for a customer during an incentive program and that program has expired by the time the vehicle is physically delivered. This protection is available unless stated otherwise in the Official Program Rules. A claim for sold order consumer incentive protection must meet the following criteria:
The sale must be documented by a signed and dated buyer’s order, during the program period, which details the agreed upon selling price, and secured by a customer’s deposit with receipts, at time of order. Dealer must print and retain the Order Confirmation
Ordered new for immediate production, or selected from in-transit dealer stock, and delivered to the original customer
Must be delivered within 14 days of the date the vehicle is received at the dealership (known as X date)
Must be delivered to the customer for whom the order was placed and at the originally agreed upon price at the time of order
All consumer incentives must be documented as being passed on to the customer on the buyer’s order as described in the Required Incentive Disclosure/Documentation Section
If the vehicle is delivered after the end date of the eligible program, the customer will have the choice of either the consumer programs available at the time of customer order or consumer programs at the time of vehicle delivery, but not both
The qualification date is the date the dealership and customer agree on the purchase or lease of a vehicle. The purchase/lease terms, conditions, and price of the vehicle must be clearly documented via a completed signed buyer’s order and proof of deposit/payment on the date of sale. This date can override the delivery date for incentive payment. This date protects the customer and/or dealership for any eligible incentives available at the time of sale.

That would be great if there are going to be rebate coupons at the NAIAS. Hopefully applicable the 2014's MY and also for the Canadian Market for us Canadians attending the show!

Now just waiting for news from Milous or anyone that has heard anything new on Summit models being confirmed for Canada yet?

I'm not sure on the colours. Looks like its going to be black maybe white. My brother got the Maximum Steel on a 2013 Overland and it looks sharp. I would consider this colour but I've read that its not going to be available on the Summits.

Milous confirmed a while ago that the urea will only be on the US models but not on the export models.

@mputnik

what exactly do you mean with UREA? Is it the AdBlue (Europe) or DEF (in the US: Diesel Exhaust Fluid) what you mean.

As I actually can say, the MY '14 doesn't work with it.

The only thing which is necessary to import a Diesel-car to Switzerland is the 'Partikelfilter' (don't know the word in english).

The only carmaker I know, which support that AdBlue/DEF is Mercedes-Benz with its for example new ML 350 CDI.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Urea = DEF = AdBlue. We will have it on the 3.0 from all the rumors and info I've seen. Europe doesn't get it as they worry about CO2 more than NOx which is what Urea is designed to control.

My question is will the MaxCare lifetime warranty be available on the CRD? I've been told the lifetime isn't available for the Cummins as Chrysler doesn't build the engine. Not sure it would be a deal breaker but there is a LOT of stuff that can break on these things and we tend to keep vehicles for a long time.

Summit as well? I may entertain this colour option if available. Are Summits going to be available for the Canadian market? Any conformation yet? Sorry for asking again and again. I'm just hoping we get the Summit here in Canada since the SRT8 might not be an option for me. So a top of the line Summit will be a great substitute!
