Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Someone asked about the towing capacity for the new 3.0L CRD - it will be the same as the 5.7L - 7,400 lbs.

Still annoyed there is no "Silver" for the Summit, but Granite Crystal is growing on me.

I'll most likely be getting the "E" anyway. Way back when I was originally thinking about just getting a base Laredo, but then I figured why spend all that money on a new car and not have the ability to "infinitely" adjust the thing I'll be spending all that time sitting in (power seats).

Plus if things are similar to how they are/were for 2011-2013, the E is necessary for the other packages, and I'd like Selec-Terrain and remote start both of which come in a package.

Hopefully the RA2 comes standard on the Laredo too as you suggested. With the 5" screen that would suggest we'll get a backup camera option like with the RAM 1500, which I might end up springing for just to make life easier. Depends on how much everything'll end up costing, of course.

As predicted 30mpg hwy, slightly less for 4WD. I have been told city mileage will come in around 20-21 mpg.

The RA2 will be standard on the Laredo and Limited. I believe the backup camera will be in an optional package on the Laredo E.

Luxury package still going to be available on the Limited (heated wheel, ventillated seats, etc)?

Sweet. Another perk of waiting so long for the 2014s.

The RA2 doesn't have GPS capability or navigation upgrade capability though, I would assume? (Which, if so, doesn't really bother me too much as a smartphone or tablet would work just as well for me.)

And while I say "sweet"... this is of course assuming that the Laredo doesn't receive a sizeable price jump over the 2013s.

Only RA3/4 will be able to have Navigation. RA3 you would have to pay to have it activated later on, which isn't like the nav on RA4.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

About the RA3:

WHAT IS IT?
In response to customer feedback regarding factory-installed navigation, we are pleased to announce that Uconnect is now offering customers the capability to activate Navigation at the time of, or after purchase. The Uconnect 8.4A (RA3) radio has a GPS navigation option that is pre-loaded on the system. The navigation is locked until the dealership activates the system. The process to unlock this feature is below.
Dealers should discuss this option with their customers at time of vehicle purchase.
If the customer chooses not to activate at that time, they can come back to the dealership anytime in the future to purchase this service.
The customer needs to be notified, and clearly understand that once this system is activated it cannot be deactivated and this feature cannot be transferred to another vehicle. When the feature is activated it’s
NON-REFUNDABLE, and permanently attached to the vehicle, not the customer. The activation is valid for the life of the vehicle.
Uconnect 8.4A (RA3) Navigation Activation Guide – Interim Process
AVAILABILITY:
Any Ram/Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Fiat vehicle with an RA3 sales code in the U.S. or Canada.
(Availability for other markets will be announced in the future)
