haha yeah, I agree. I can't imagine someone at Jeep was like "This car's great but I really think that finger pull blocks my visibility when I'm backing up! We better do somethin' about that."

You've got lots of full-sized, non-cropped pictures of the 2014, but you're just not allowed to release them yet, am I right?

If so, don't worry, you can release them early here and we won't tell anybody.

That window is a lot smaller that it appears from the exterior!

Not to beat a dead horse, but I don't see what improves in this picture with the elimination of the flipper glass. Granted, I'm not a designer/engineer, but I don't think the headliner / roof is moving any higher and they could have made the glass taller (go further down) if they wanted to - I don't think the height of the glass is too impacted by the hinge mechanism.

Milous,

Can you show us a real picture of the 2014 Summit wheels?

I think the viewable portion of the glass must get much wider without the electronics, hinges, arms and so on?

The hinges never were really in the way (see the pic above).

If you want to improve both visibility and weight reduction, you'd toss the wiper.

I'm still hoping there's some kind of electronic release for the flipper glass personally.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

This is my first post on ANY forum. I've never been keen on forums but I feel obliged to say thank you to everyone who has provided a great deal of insight on the new GC. You know who you are.

As for the removal of the flipper glass, this might be more of a noise issue than a weight issue for all models other than SRT. I haven't owned a Jeep before but my rear window on my pathfinder rattles every now and then, especially when music is played at a remotely high volume, and it's extremely annoying. Hopefully I'm not comparing oranges to oranges here because I will never buy a Nissan again but do plan to purchase a MY14 GC this summer.

Milous, while your at it showing pictures can you show me a picture of the passenger side rear seat fold-down release mechanism?
Also, how many lumens or candlepower is the flashlight that is included? Does it have a strobe function?

I don't think the flashlight is powerful enough to shoot videos with.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I was excited about Garmin being the Nav provider for the 14's, so now that this appears to be squashed I need something else to be excited about. Wednesday tidbits?
