Thursday tidbit. NICE!! At this rate you may run out of tidbits mid-day Friday and have to post the centerfold pics on Satur...um, I mean Friday instead of Sunday. Well played, Milous. Well played indeed.

Milous; will the 19 speaker sound system now standard in the SRT and Summit be available as an option on the Limited? Jeep seems to be lacking a high quality sound system option for those of us unable to afford "Summit" prices but want more than 9 speakers.

4th 1.00

Anyway, unless I'm mistaken, a higher numerical gear ratio means better acceleration, correct? In which case the 8-speed should definitely offer improved acceleration (which we all were expecting anyway based off of the acceleration improvements the 300 and Charger both got). It'll be interesting to see just how improved it ends up being.

Correct. Also bgasser, while Standard on the Summit, it is optional on the SRT.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Regarding the taillamps - one thing that threw everyone is that on the spyshots it appeared as though some models did not have the LED lights - but all of the '14's had them. Jeep went with a "dispersed pattern" for a seamless lighting effect, unlike other LED systems where individual filaments can be seen. Personally, I don't like the latter, I think they are annoying and "aftermarket looking".

current diesel in Australia and Europe is
177Kw & 550Nm or in your language 235HP & 405 ft lbs

does it pick up this extra power and torque due to the urea/adblue/bluetech ( or what ever jeep will call it ??

BTW Milous, you must have been online 12+ hours straight man ! running your own double shift?

That hp figure converts to 177kw, which is what the current export is rated at, however the 420 doesn't sound right or is in a figure I don't recognise. The export diesel is currently rated at 550 Nm @ 1800-2800 rpm.

P.S. Late edit, I see it is ft lbs, which equates to 570 Nm, so an increase in torque in comparison to the current export model.
