I agree, and when the spyshots of the lit taillamps first came out I was relieved to see that they went in that direction rather than the other.

Nope. 9-speaker with subwoofer and 506 watt amp is Optional on Limited and Standard on Overland.

Milious - Hopefully this is not a dumb question, but will the Limited come standard with the features listed in the All Weather Package and the Comfort and Convenience Group??

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

So.. if I'm reading this right:

Quote:
All-weather Package (Laredo E)
Cargo liner
Daytime running lamps
Engine block heater
Heated seats
Heated steering wheel
Mopar slush mats
Remote start
Selec-Terrain
Tow hooks
Two-speed transfer case with low-range

Comfort and Convenience Group (Laredo E)
115V outlet
Auto-dimming rear-view mirror
Cargo cover
Heated front seats
Heated steering wheel
ParkSense/ParkView
power liftgate
Remote start
Security alarm
Universal garage door opener

Limited Luxury Package (Limited)
CommandView dual-pane sunroof
Front ventilated seats with memory
High-intensity discharge, auto high beam headlights
Navigation-ready 8.4-in. Uconnect touchscreen (RA3)
Power tilt/telescoping wheel
Premium leather covered seats
Rain sensing wipers
Is it safe to assume that the Summit inherits most of these as part of it's package?

However, the below are not available for the Summit?

Quote:
Off-road Adventure I Group (Laredo E, Limited)
Full-size spare tire
Hill-descent Control
P245/70R17 OWL on/off road tires (Laredo E only)
P265/60R18 BSW on/off road tires
Selec-Terrain system
Skid plate group
Steel spare wheel
Trail Rated badge
Two-speed on-demand transfer case

Off-road Adventure II Group (Limited, Overland)
Full-size spare tire
P265/60R18 BSW on/off-road tires
Quadra-Drive 4WD system (EcoDiesel and V-8)
Quadra-Lift air suspension system (Standard on Overland)
Selec-Terrain (Standard on Limited, Overland)
Skid plate group
Steel spare wheel
Trail Rated badge
Two-speed on-demand transfer case
And it sounds like these, Engine, Tires, and exterior/interior colours are the only really selectible options left for the Summit, right?

Quote:
Rear Dual DVD Entertainment Center (Limited/Overland/Summit)
Seat-mounted Blu-ray dual-screen rear-seat video system
(with HDMI and RCA inputs)
(Requires Limited Luxury Package for Limited models)

Trailer Tow Group IV (Laredo E, Limited; Standard on Overland, Summit)
220-amp alternator
Class IV receiver hitch with seven- and four-pin wiring harness
Engine oil cooler
Full size spare tire
Heavy-duty engine cooling
Rear load-leveling suspension (not available with QL air suspension)
Steel spare wheel
If so, I'm kind of bummed, I'd like ORA2 on my Summit.

Gigi's pdf mentioned +9HP for the 3.0 CRD bringing it from 241 to 250 HP (could also be meant to be 241 PS (present EU rating in PS) going up to 250 PS).

Was this wishful thinking?

I think the Summit has everything that ORA2 has except the trail rated badge and skid plates.

Why? What does ORA2 have that the Summit won't have?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

This may be a stupid question, but would the performance/ acceleration/ overall driving experience of the 3.0 L be more comparable to the 3.6 L V6 or the 5.7 L V8? I'm really interested in the diesel but have never owned a diesel vehicle before.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Probably closer to the V8 but we won't know until people test it.

The actual real world CRD #S will be MUCH higher at 60 mph on the hwy. Once broken in more like 35 mpg. The EPA formula for diesels is always low compared to real world. Especially hwy mpg.

On a side note my employer recently replaced my assigned 2007 Dodge Charger with a 2013 model.

The 2007 ran 120,000 brutal miles with a broken ignition switch as the only issue! Great Car.

So far I have about 1,500 miles on the 2013. Simply put the 2013 is a superlative car. Outstanding build quality, quiet, rock solid at triple digits, electro hydro steering works great. Very impressive.

My point is that Chrysler is building some world class vehicles. After experiencing how they improved the Mercedes/Chrysler Charger I can't wait to drive the 2014 CRD! I must admit I had my doubts about Fiat, turns out I was wrong.

Tow hooks and skid plates, trust me you don't want to put them on yourself like I did on my '96. And the rear ELSD I think.
