Not sure if you noticed it or not (I didn't at first), but its actually a straight on shot of a 2014.... tilt your monitor at a slight angle or turn up the brightness and you'll see it

We know for a fact that with the 5 Speed it was doing 23/32 according to the EU.

Honestly, having driven (and still driving a diesel) I often beat the EPA estimates by a good 10-15%.. and that's in the crapfest driving that is Seattle traffic.
The important difference is that if you push a diesel car fuel consumption doesn't increase like with a petrol engine. So in day to day driving, unless you drive very carefully, the differences will be bigger than the EPA ratings tell you.

Milous,

I hope this does not change any of the information you provided in regard to the new feature, e.g. the information in the first post and the screenshot you posted some days ago, right? I'm not so much interested who provides the software but I do hope that this information does not mean a last minute downgrade of the nav cpapabilities.

Thanks!

That's on par with what I'm getting as well.

I do, however, expect to get closer to 25/26 Combined (given my experiences with Diesels).

If you want true fuel savings, you'd go V6. That one, is technically, going to be the cheapest to run (nudging out the CRD by about $40 right now). However, if you are towing, I'd still say the CRD is your best option. Under weight, the CRD will easily out pace the V8 in MPG numbers.

But if you are not towing, but want a little more zoom zoom (than the V6 can offer), then the Hemi maybe your best option.

Alot of people are saying 2k-3k additional cost for the CRD over the HEMI, so assuming that, it will take approx 65k-95k miles to break even.

Although I have a hunch the cost of HEMI vs. CRD might be the same.... MILOUS?

Personally, I was pretty set on getting the CRD, but after reviewing things some more, I'm not so sure... if you add in the additional diesel costs, the yearly difference is going to be quite minimal, and realistically it will probably take well over 100k miles to break even... probably closer to 150k. Chances are I will have upgraded by then anyways.

I think some others leaning CRD might start to reconsider as well, especially considering the longer wait to obtain a CRD.
James, I'm right there with you on this reasoning. My math worked out to almost the same (I used 16,000 miles and assumed 70% highway to match my driving patterns). ~$500 annual fuel savings vs. the Hemi with the reported CRD mileage. If you assume the CRD will actually get better mileage than reported (say, a 15% bump, taking it to 23/32), then the difference becomes ~$850/year.

A bit more compelling when you assume overperformance on the mileage, but I still don't think it justifies the wait.

For the harman navigation, it is possible to use a version of the igo8 or igo primo navigation software instead of the garmin
This igo stuff looks great!

Milous, come on. Don't do that to us Aussies. If you release pics Sunday evening in USA it will be well into Monday for us. We can't wait that long. Why not treat your side of the pond to a Saturday treat so we at least only have to wait until Sunday.....it's been sooooooo long.

can you please advise what price your Diesel and Gas is when you work out these numbers. I have a feeling your gas is much cheaper than ours over here. In which case the numbers for you guys stacks up. Not so sure they do the same for us here.

I'm in Los Angeles. The fuel prices in my area are roughly $3.70 for regular unleaded petrol and $4.30 for diesel (in US$). I would expect the calculations in other countries to lead to very different results.

(EDIT: prices are per gallon)
