Ah Chevy, it could be worse. You could be a Miami Dolphins fan and have to deal with Pit Bull and Gloria Estefan, on the big screen, telling us to get our fins up! It passed depressing years ago and is firmly planted in pathetic!

Milous said you'd feel better if you took the pressure off of him and posted pictures from the plant today. No need for blue and purple pills man.

I really wouldn't want to diminish the Sunday night excitement.

But, if you want to pm me how much you want to put a flipper glass on my Overland, we should be able to strike a deal.

Diesel comes down to personal taste, I personally like and prefer the 455 ft/lbs of torque driving a family car, no matter the extra cost!!
I guess chiming in on the diesel topic is as good as a first post as any... "Howdy" and "thank you" to everyone on the site and specifically this post for the wealth of information. You've heard the story a thousand times -- "I've been lurking on here for awhile since I'm interested in the new refreshed model". Yep, that's me too. Loved the current GC when it came out but knew there was going to be a diesel and 8-speed on the way so I decided to wait like many others.

Back on topic, i've owned a number of diesels over the years and currently have a Jetta Sportwagen TDI. The part about the diesel discussion that always bothers me a bit is what awestbrook above said -- how about preference over gas engines instead of just the efficiency angle? I, like awestbrook, prefer diesels in certain kinds of vehicles -- passenger and trucks come to mind immediately. I guess I'm a torque guy (kinda prefer my motorcycles that way as well...).

Only one diesel I've owned has made it to the "break-even point" (because it was a VW Dasher wagon hand me down from my mom as my first car) as I tend to turn vehicles every 3-4 years. And I pay, as others, considerable more for diesel than gas. But for me it's just worth it for two primary reasons: I'm using less resources and I prefer the torque of a diesel. I haven't done the first break-even calculation on the GC or any other for that matter because it's more preference for me. I'm not going to deny the efficiency is attractive as well. In the current VW I get 39 mpg doing 80 mph for 500 miles (we do this trip regularly...) and that's with the car loaded down and with larger wheels and tires than stock.

All of that being said, the diesel and MPG vs. value debate is always an interesting one. I respect for some it's very much a value decision.

So I'm looking forward to tomorrow night and then Monday as everyone else is. I will likely hold off - well, I'll have to hold off for a bit for the CRD -- to purchase until after initial launch. I also am interested to see what special additions launch in the next couple months -- hopefully an Altitude type model.

Thanks again for all the great information.

Maybe at the same time if he has it. Everything will most likely be on the WK2Jeeps site.

I'll just wait.. There isn't much to see here right now anyway. Plus I like the way Milous does reveals. Wouldn't wanna ruin it. And I'm curious to see what he has myself, and where they were shot.

Does anyone know what that announcement will be?

And, where on this forum should such general Jeep questions be posted/discussed? I'm new here. Not sure if this is the right place?

Thanks!

Chevy, I know you're not a fan of DCR but how did it look with the Jeep Brown interior? I know you favor the brown interior, is it a better match for the Auburn?
