There is a tv commercial running (I forget the brand) where the driver folds his mirrors in to get into a tight spot, then exits the car through the rear hatch.

A bit extreme, but funny.

I often fold the passenger mirror in when the car is garaged, to access shelves and controls. Almost as often I don't realize I did it until I'm driving down the road. Of course I would notice it backing out of the garage, if I didn't have a back up camera. It's always something!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

They're nice to have when parking in a garage. On my BMW, I just hit a button and the mirrors fold so I can get close to the side going in. With my wife's CRV in there, it's nice to have the extra space to get over.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

One other thing to consider when deciding between a CRD and Hemi -- the CRD has a turbo (I think), which is very helpful at altitude. The hemi could lose 60-80 HP at a high altitude, while the CRD won't lose much at all. If you live in the mountains, its something to consider. You'd hate to buy the Hemi thinking that it will give you the best performance, and then see a CRD blow by you.

Thanks for the explanations everyone. Given I live in the city and don't have a garage, I guess I could see how I wouldn't find them very useful, but I can understand how others might. What I would find extremely useful (used to have on my CTS, don't have on my WK) is when the mirrors fold down when the car is put in reverse. Helpful for parallel parking. Do the WK2s have this feature?

Was it my imagination or did actually somebody mentioned an extra 6th mode for Selec-Terrain? Any idea what would that be?

Currently we have: Auto, Sport, Snow, Sand/Mud, Rock
