On the GC you can get the following:
-Quadra-Trac IŽ 4WD
-Quadra-Trac IIŽ 4WD
-Quadra-DriveŽ II 4WD
Thats a lot of Quadra stuff .... I know you cant have both Trac I and Trac II, its either or. My question is this on the HEMI, does the Overland come standard with both Trac II and Drive II? or does it just come with Drive II and you add the Trac II or does Drive II replace Trac II?
Also any ideas on how these will be offered with the Diesel on the 2014 Overland???
I'm not an expert with these (nor a big off-roader) but for what it's worth:
Trac I - simple all wheel drive system
Trac II - more advanced that allows for variable torque distribution between the front and rear axle (less torque to the axle that has less traction)
Drive II - Electronic Limited Slip Differential allows variable torque distribution between specific wheels (so if the front, passenger side tire is in slushy snow but the front driver side tire is on solid concrete, it will apply all the torque to the driver side (and almost no torque to the passenger side) to help you get out of the slush more easily. With Trac II, the whole axle would be getting at least some power (depending on what's going on with the rear axle).)
EDIT: I believe the Overland comes standard with Quadra Trac II and Quadra Lift (the adjustable height air suspension). You can add Quadra Drive II by adding the Off Road Adventure (ORA) II package. On Limiteds, adding ORA II adds Quadra Drive II and Quadra Lift (otherwise comes standard with Quadra Trac II and fixed height, traditional suspension).
