Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Question guys .... maybe I missed this somewhere..

On the GC you can get the following:

-Quadra-Trac IŽ 4WD
-Quadra-Trac IIŽ 4WD
-Quadra-DriveŽ II 4WD

Thats a lot of Quadra stuff .... I know you cant have both Trac I and Trac II, its either or. My question is this on the HEMI, does the Overland come standard with both Trac II and Drive II? or does it just come with Drive II and you add the Trac II or does Drive II replace Trac II?

Also any ideas on how these will be offered with the Diesel on the 2014 Overland???

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Any of the factory boys know if the hood part number was tweaked? Just wondering if my '12 deflector will fit or not. Thanks in advance...

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

While red isn't bad at all, I have my doubts it would look good on a Summit - considering that EVERY Summit will have that grey painted lower part.

IMO, that only leaves black, white and - of course - grey.

I'm not the white type so it's down to grey or black. Black on black is a bit too hot for me here in FL so black exterior only if the brown interior is nice. If it isn't, it will be black interior and grey exterior. Brown interior works with black and grey exterior. Decisions, decisions...

Hmmm, Milous didn't tell me yet if the lower bumper grey is identical to the Graphite grey paint.

I'm not an expert with these (nor a big off-roader) but for what it's worth:

Trac I - simple all wheel drive system

Trac II - more advanced that allows for variable torque distribution between the front and rear axle (less torque to the axle that has less traction)

Drive II - Electronic Limited Slip Differential allows variable torque distribution between specific wheels (so if the front, passenger side tire is in slushy snow but the front driver side tire is on solid concrete, it will apply all the torque to the driver side (and almost no torque to the passenger side) to help you get out of the slush more easily. With Trac II, the whole axle would be getting at least some power (depending on what's going on with the rear axle).)

EDIT: I believe the Overland comes standard with Quadra Trac II and Quadra Lift (the adjustable height air suspension). You can add Quadra Drive II by adding the Off Road Adventure (ORA) II package. On Limiteds, adding ORA II adds Quadra Drive II and Quadra Lift (otherwise comes standard with Quadra Trac II and fixed height, traditional suspension).

Auburn with brown interior.

The Auburn is a more complex color like the max steel. It should hide dirt nicely & isn't wimpy but not badass either. It's a nice color that should look very sharp on a Summit! Classy & rugged but not anything as close to Cashmere Pear. Now that's a color I wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley.

I don't think 4jeepdiesel's ever going to let Jeep live down even remotely considering Cashmere Pearl as a color option

It used to be that QDII was only available on V8 regardless if you have ORAII package or not. Not sure if that has changed or not. I think it was dictated by power train limitations (V6 not having enough torque???).

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I think Jeep should offer the Ivory Tri-coat Pearl, it looks more off white with a pearl look to it in person. this would be a much better color than cashmere. Unless Chrysler is doing what they did with Mineral grey and Tungsten metallic, cashmere may turn out looking like the Ivory Tri -coat. I'm not crazy about bright ass white LOL

From what the Jeep site says, that is correct.

2013 Grand Cherokee | Off Road Performance | Jeep

the QDII is only on the HEMI, I just wasnt sure if the Overland came with the Quadra Lift, and QTII standard or if you had to add the Offroad Adventure pack to get the QTII on it or if the the QDII replaced the QTII entirely.

Also was curious if anyone heard if the QDII will be available on the Diesel?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

A few days ago Milous confirmed that CRD will get QDII. It was in response to one of my posts, probably 2 or 3 days ago.
