Ok, so the Summit DOES come with QD2. I wasn't sure of that. Does it also come with QL and SelectTrac?

I'm not too worried if ALL the Summit is missing versus the Overland is Tow Hooks and the "Select the Speed at which I shall kill you going down a trail" thingy and some other odds and ends (like skid plates).

I was debating switching back to the Overland and just speccing the crap out of it as I really want that QD2 and QL combo (plus then I do get the colour I want).

But, if the Summit does indeed come with the majority of the offroad bits the Overland does, then screw it, I want to rock out to Bohemian Rhapsody on my 19 speaker system...

This is getting off topic so you can google it, probably discussed gozzillion times.

Currently I THINK whatever is standard (QTII vs QDII) is driven by engine type not necessary by trim/model (except Laredo which gets QTI which is missing low range transfer case).

V6 => QTII and you cannot really upgrade even if you get ORA2
V8, CRD => QDII for V8 might be an option with ORA2. Seems like it might be standard now - it is if you get CRD.
Yea sorry ... not trying to get it off topic, but I totally understand now. From Jeep's website it seemed at least to me that you could have both on the GC and that they did different things ... but your explanation makes total sense

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I, like many (most) here am anxiously waiting for pricing. I need to replace my company car like right now. The available allowance covered a MY13 Summit after our fleet discount. I am really hoping any price increase will not put the Summit out of reach. Any word or hint at all? (Is there a begging smiley face?)

Rear-seat footwell and rear door-pocket ambient lighting (Overland)

***********

What do that mean? Only the Overland get that rear-seat footwell and door-pocket lighting.
And what about the Summit???
I hope very hard, that this gadget will also available in the Summit, right?

Btw, does now anybody know more about that front- and rear-seat lighting? is it a real ambient light?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I go away for 15 minutes and check for an update and all I hear about is power folding mirrors. I'll tell you how much I give a crap about side mirrors. I'm going to take my side mirrors off to make it look sleeker. Just like my motorcycle, if it doesn't make it go faster or look better what's the point?

I do not believe you can get the 19 speaker sound system on the Overland at any price unless it has changed.

Hey, if Milous said it he has to make it happen.

You can't put it on the internet if it isn't true. I saw that on tv.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

The V6 gas can now tow 6000+ pounds ( maybe 6200, same as WD?). Great. When the EPA Preliminary numbers came out I was all set for the CRD but now maybe the Pentastar is enough.
