Harman 7,000 speaker blow your eardrum system, which is not the same as the Harman sounds like Garmin but not quite navigation system?

Listed only for the Overland, seems likely though that the Summit would also have it.

And the CRD order banks open ...?

There was a rumor of February. Is that accurate?

Thanks.

Not confirmed at last check if CRD is Jan with everyone else, or Feb 5th.

At any rate, we won't get our toys until early May.

The new details in Post #1 say "Harmon Kardon" navigation, while the UConnect website boasts Garmin as the new navigation partner. I far prefer Garmin, so fingers crossed it is used in the new Grand Cherokees. Thanks so much.

Uconnect | Navigation | Garmin GPS
I am also curious about this issue and have posted about it. I am a bit afraid it won't be Garmin. There are different 8.4" uconnect systems:
  1. 8.4N/RB5 as used for Chrysler 300, Charger, Dart, and Journey, is specified to have Garmin navigation,
  2. 8.4AN/RA4 as used for Ram and SRT Viper, is specified to have navigation however without naming the brand. Evidence points to Harman providing not only the unit but also the nav software.
Information posted on this site points to the 8.4AN/RA4 being the system installed in the new GC. I guess it is a wait and see till we know for sure.

Harman I learned is doing also the multimedia/nav systems for BMW and for Audi. The BMW navigation is very good, and has a lot of desirable features. Therefore final verdict will depend on what features Harman & Chrysler did include in the 8.4AN/RA4. It seems Harman wants to aim at the top with it, therefore in principle it could be a navigation system superior to Garmin.

Hey Pat, is it still looking like you'll be able to provide us with pricing before the banks open?

The 8.4 in the 300/Charger etc. is the 1st generation 8.4 screens
The 8.4 in the Viper, Ram and Grand Cherokee is the 2nd generation.

The 2nd gen 8.4 radios feature Harman navigation.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Just caught up. I got super excited when I saw the 19 speaker system in the overland to have the rug pulled from under me. I'm hoping pricing for the Summit is reasonable so I can get some of the desired features without having to add much, but as I see the list of standard features, I feel it slipping away from my price range.

That's cool that those wheels from the Summit are optional on Overland. What does that mean though - Premium? What process was done to the Premium wheels and what color are they?
