New: Headlamps with LED DRL's (Limited/Overland/SRT8)

This is from the front page. I don't remember Milous saying any different of the HiD Headlights on the Laredo or X models.

Did Devin ever make it over to look at the headlights or was he advised not to say anything??

Marlon.. Go home man! Lol.. Those cars will be there 2mrw. Go live a lil man.

Oh and I didn't forget abt you guys and the headlights and "stupid black piece" research. But seeing as how that was Marlon's tidbit, I'll let him elaborate...

#2,803 ·
I am gone!

#2,807 · (Edited)
Was that for Marlon, or me?.. Cause umm... Yea.

After working 60-80hrs a week, the last thing I need to be told to do is go have a drink. And I still have to go in 2mrw for 12 more hrs!

Ahem... "eyes" that move.

I know he wasn't saying that it couldn't be done but (as you stated as well) would take away from the forums.

Yep newbie. Read I think all pages about the 14's and now prob forgotten most what I read. Anxiously awaiting the 14 GC. Was originally sold on waiting for the diesel to replace wife's 3 series BMW and to be a double diesel garage next to my Dodge. The Jeep Overland BLOWS THE X 5 OUT OF THE POND for much less too. But as I continually see diesel .50 cents more a gal then gas in lovely Northern California, not sure it's the most economical option for us. She drives prob 25-30k a yr and would prob plan on keeping car till 150k or 6or7 yrs. Do u guys think we will see the full bennifit of higher original cost and per gal cost? I read the v6/v8 discussions, if we don't do the diesel, we will prob go the 6 route because we need the mpg.

One last question. What is difference between Overland and the Summit edition? If we can't have the big motor, might as well keep it classy inside!

Lastly, awesome site, great intel and has some very devoted members! Good work

Hey there,
Welcome to the site! at only 50 cents more per gallon you are paying roughly 15 percent more for gas but getting 50 percent more mileage. How many miles/year would you drive? It would also depend on what the markup is for the diesel engine.
If you want more performance though I'd go with the diesel.

^^I know there is a thread (might be in the main area) that someone asks about going with the Hemi or going diesel.

There is alot of information on WK2Jeeps from the 2013 model that can tell you the difference between the Overland and Overland Summit editions.

Only problem with the above post on fuel cost.

The v6 uses Regular and the v8 uses Premium. Right now, regular is 2.99 and Diesel is 3.70. It's a 70 cent difference, not 40 cents.
I did factor in the costs of Normal Unleaded (V6 and Hemi), Super or Premium Unleaded (STR) and Diesel (CRD) in those estimates.

T-Ride said:
True, no one knows what the mpg of the diesel will be. Only speculation at that point.
The CRD MPG I posted is the current MPG of the EuroSpec CRD currently used in export models (8.3 L/100km) which yeilds a combined MPG of about 28MPG.

Gas/Diesel prices are going to be different all over the U.S. so it is going to depend what works best for you. Around here the price between regular 3.39, premium 3.69, Diesel 3.99

But if you will never be towing anything or live in a hilly area then it really wouLdnt make a difference.

Wow, only 4hrs of sleep... You Maniac!!!!

Just a heads up if anyone is looking for a smaller vehicle than the Grand Cherokee, or maybe a second vehicle for the stable...

The all-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee (which is replacing the Liberty and Patriot) will launch just a few months after the WK2. Featuring a new ZF 9-speed auto transmission and the new 3.2L V6, it will share many of the WK2 features such as the 8.4" navigation radios, power liftgate, new UConnect, front and rear LED's, etc. A special edition Trailhawk model is planned at launch.

Sorry guys but I got in a nice wreck after work. Got T Boned on the drivers side and no the Jeep is nowhere near OK.

No drinks here, but I probably need one right now. My body has to be an adrenaline factory if I am still awake, 20 hours now, 10 spent at work.

Very sorry to hear this happened to you. I've been through it before, with my 98 ZJ. Not fun. It will get resolved. Nothing you can do right now, but try and get some sleep.

Temerarius

you will NOT make:

MPG (City): 22.8
MPG (Hwy): 32.7
MPG (Combined): 28.0

with the CRD. Those numbers are for Europeen gallons. 28, maybe 29 is what you can expect for MPG (hwy). And MAYBE 23 MPG combined. This brings you to around 3500$ for a year for the CRD. Very close to the V6...

Ehh?

That's based off the conversion of L/KM to Miles per US Gallon... not European (Imperial) Gallon.

As for the cost of fuel, yeah, Diesel and Normal Unleaded petrol usually have a wide gap (though it's never a set % it seems). I've always compared filling my diesels as being akin to filling my Benz or BMW (Premium)... I just get much higher MPG (My E-Class CRD for instance, wipes the floor with a co-workers E320).

And Marlon, man, that sucks. Glad you are in one piece.

I'll send ya some duct tape and some spackel for the ride.

Yikes!! Hope you weren't injured at all. How bad is the jeep??

Good thing you have a drink today when I said it before. Try to get some sleep if you have to work in the morning. Glad you are alright.
