The recent WK2 special edition Trailhawk and Altitude versions have basically been based on the Laredo with different wheels, trim, grille, paint, etc., but neither has been based on the Overland or Limited. For instance, I don't believe that any WK2 special edition has even offered HIDs as an option.

I think there is certainly a market for a "S-Limited" or other special edition that still offers the high end luxury features of the Limited/Overland/Summit, but with various unique features. I really hope that starting with the 2014 WK2, will see at least one luxury/high end special edition.
You pretty much exactly described a Summit.

But there's nothing "limited" about the Summit. Presumably, it will always be available through the remaining model life of the WK2. Special editions are only made for a year or less and are therefore a little bit more unique.

Even the SRT got a limited edition Vapor version, so I am just expressing an interest in a special edition Limited/Overland/Summit that is different from what you can walk into a dealer any day and purchase.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I think they choose the Laredo as a base for special edition models because the cost can be upwards of 40000+. I think its a smart move from Chrylser/Fiat/Jeep to do this because it makes them more affordable and can be offered to a broader class of buyer. I do agree that the Trailhawk and Altitudes should have came with HID headlamps instead of just a black painted casing and regular lamps. In that case they could have just used a headlamp from the Limited painted it black and kept the base of the special edition model a Laredo.

Hi Has anyone here actually heard the 19 speaker HK system compared to the regular stereo in the Overland? And if so, what ya think?

Sorry to burst you're bubble, but it's 15 hours.

The release is 9:00 PM PST ... More like midnight where you are. Same for me.

The S-limited is a very high spec model, has everything summit has with the only option being pan sunroof. But then in the UK it's 46k not cheap by any standards
I love the srt8 inspired body kit on the s-limited, really does look good in person

I believe the 300 offers a 19 speaker HK system as well. There is a video of such system on youtube by autosavant. Check it out, its worth a review.
