Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Long time listener, first time caller. Thanks for all the info guys, this has been great. Especially happy to see that others have observed the mysteriously shrinking invoice-to-MSRP margin!

Btw, for you SRT prospective buyers: I had my 2007 Wrangler Unlimited in the dealer garage for lube and was trolling the sales floor when I saw that they had a red '12 GC SRT *new* marked down to ~$58k from ~$64k. It's not a '14 but might be an opportunity to get a great deal and I suspect that they'd probably flex that price a little more with some bargaining. Sales guy said it had just been marked down recently and I think they had a few more at another dealer a few miles away. Let me know if you're interested and ill send the name of the dealer.

I like your postive attitude sir. My new 4x4 will be here just in time for April showers!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Milous, any idea if the Auburn is still a late availability item? That aspect of it seems to have dropped off the radar.

Won't make a difference, Chevy has convinced me its the hot setup for us old guys.

I do agree that the Trailhawk and Altitudes should have came with HID headlamps instead of just a black painted casing and regular lamps. In that case they could have just used a headlamp from the Limited painted it black and kept the base of the special edition model a Laredo.
+1

Saw a couple of Altitude's at the dealer a couple weeks back, and the HID would have been a great combination. It would be nice for HID standard or at least as an option in a yet to be announced special edition '14 since the '13 price is approaching the Limited, and has many other non-Laredo features.

The invoice for the Altitude package 24Z (and required Laredo E) was just under $7k, brings you into Limited territory, which is where I started....but never did make a full list of the Limited standard items I'd miss out on.

I saw the 'Auburn' on a 200 yesterday. To each his own, but that is one ' boring ' color. Cherry Red is the one for me.

Hey Vtail,

That's a great ad! I drive by it all the time. it's quite fitting as there's a stockyard/slaughterhouse just down the road from the dealership. You can definitely get some kind of smell there if the wind is blowing the wrong way.
That dealership is about 10 miles from my house. Luckily I'm upwind.
