Alot of us are waiting for the CRD's to arrive on lots so we can test drive and compare to the other engines before purchasing...

I lemoned my 335i because of recurring fuel pump issues and I've been patiently waiting for the 8-speed GC ever since (I wanted to move to an SUV anyway). I never thought I'd see the next 20,000 miles of my Acura Integra that was collecting dust in my garage but MAN am I thankful I held onto this thing so it could hold me over until the '14 launch. As much as I "love" my Integra (first car sentimentality, the hatchback is really versatile for a car so small), I can't wait to get this Jeep!

EDIT: Meant to add "as I'm sure many others on this forum have been waiting a long time too! I'm by no means the only one who's waited this long (but I am curious if anyone's been holding out for this car since even before Jan / Feb 2012)."
I'm with you dude, this thing can't come soon enough for me either! While I haven't necessarily been in the financial position to buy the entire time, I've been waiting to buy a JGC with the 8 speed since about November of 2011.

Originally the 8 speed was slated to be introduced with the 2013 JGC which came out in July... but as we all know now it was pushed off to the 2014s.

At least this copycat (VWVortex.com - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Gains Refreshed Exterior, Interior and Diesel Engine) gave credit to your work.

I'm dying to see what the grille looks like without those chrome inlets. Depending on how it does look, I might just end up replacing it with a Limited grille -- or finding a way to add the inlets to the existing grille. We shall see!

The long wait will only make finally getting it that much sweeter.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

The one thing I really like about the 2014 is those chrome grille slot frames in the Limited (and up) grilles.

edit: I also like the new steering wheel and the fact that the lower rockers are body color painted on Overlands. And the DRL LEDs are nice. And the fact the grille is body color and the rear tailgate is body colored and without a chrome rear brow. I think Fiat/Chrysler/Jeep has been listening to us.

Given above, my strategy probably will be to order CRD Overland as soon as I can. Not sure if we can order on Tuesday but hopefully this will be sooner than later. Given March 25 production startup for CRD realistically, probably not until Feb or maybe early March.

In the meantime I'm hoping that V6 Overlands will show up sometime in Feb. If I like the new tranny & engine combo maybe will just take what's on the lot.

Looking for dark exterior (black or max steel), probably new blue interior (would rather have Saddle) and Advanced Warning System. If I can get ORA2 than fine if not than not a big deal.

Back in 2010 after someone made me crash my 4Runner I started researching and found out about rumblings about the diesel and the 8 speed. Back then nobody believed me that it was going to happen. I have the emails from back then to the different sales guys and I'm going to send them a friendly "I told you so" email and see what they say.

HA HA!
