I thought a few pages ago Milous did confirm that the production date didn't change. Hopefully that is still true.

I would love to be one of the first to order one but i really want to see what the changes/differences and options are going to be for each model. A price range for the SRT would be nice as well. Sounds like i might have to wait till the beginning of february.

Yeah, I wonder if Milous will be able to provide us with that info before/when the order banks open, or if we'll have to go into the dealership to find out. I'd prefer the former, that way I don't feel obligated to give a particular dealership my business if I find another one that can get me a better deal.

So end of March... cool. But we should still be able to order at the same time as the others, 9 Jan, right?

Sorry to ask again, but can someone comment on the 8.4" radio and how is fits into the dash. Is it integrated like the Charger or does it have the extra trim piece to make it blend in like the 300/Ram?

#3,165 ·
Nav layout looks like what's in that pic posted a while back.

Note: That was an S0 pilot in the pic, but should give you a good idea of what you'll see.

I saw one in the SRT8 section, but then it was mentioned that was the current model interior with some of the upcoming upgrades fitted for testing.

You're not missing much as far as appearances.

Milous, correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this the first Jeep getting the Powernet architecture and the new key fob?

#3,169 ·
According to this article from Autoblog the diesel will come with a 6 speed automatic...they are pretty reliable but hopefully they are wrong on this one.
That would contradict what is posted on WK2Jeep as it states the 8spd for the 3.0L. I guess we will see soon enough.
If it were me, I would trust the WKJeeps sources :) :D

Check out the information on WK2Jeeps.com about that, might answer the questions on this.

I got my hands on that in the 300 at the auto show and I actually like it. Looking at it in images turned me off as well initially, but now after having some hands on I prefer it. Now I do need some long term usage to see if it will still be liked in the long run.

I can speak specifically to the new shifter. I just picked up a Bright White 2013 Chrysler 300 S AWD V6 the other night and HATED the shifter for the first day, as it is somewhat "touchy!" Almost a week later and roughly 300 miles on the car and it is perfectly fine (you WILL need to get used to it). The 8 speed transmission is as smooooooooth as butter! Next up for me is to get rid of the FX35 and pick up the 2014 JCG Overland in summer 2013. Let me know if any of you have additional questions regarding the shifter / transmission, etc.

I test drove and gently beat the hell out of a 2013 Chrysler 300 as well and am VERY impressed with the transmission. The shifter is different but it's better than what I have now.
I haven't heard much about the JCG Overland. Is that a special edition model of some sort?
Sorry, I couldn't resist. I've been picking on people all day because I'm not getting much for new tidbits and I was supposed to order my new Jeep today but someone over must be slacking to hold up production.

Anyone hear from Ralph lately?

LOL.

Manley is just a marketing guy.

Nothing more.

Wanna send over complaints?

Send them to Tony Petit and crew! Lead engineers for vehicles!

Don't see any mention in my tidbits archive of Stop/Start for the 2014 GC. It's a very complex system, involving changes to engine, HD starter, HD alternator and a whole bunch of other stuff. Maybe 2015 model year, and V6 only. They are using the 2013 Ram as a test bed, to work out all the bugs. The 2014 WK2 has enough new features as it is, Stop/Start would only add further complexity.

#3,192 ·
who's in charge of making the decision for special edition models? We need to get them the message that we want an overland based altitude/s-limited style edition in 2014!!!!!!!
word! That means i'm in agreement!
