No billet silver with indigo for the Overland. Damn it!

The Summit is overdone, and the Overland is the winner b/w the two trims. What's even better is it will cost less. So what, you lose a 19 speaker HK sound system, suede / alcantara headliner, adaptive headlights and headlight washers, none of this will keep me up at night!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Trying to choose between:

1) loaded Limited in Billet Silver - I think the dark gray lower fascia would look best with this color rather than monochromatic Overland (arches, etc) but would like to see the Limited interior as far as leather quality and wood color versus Overland.

2) Overland in Brilliant Black - dark looked good in monochromic from what I can tell. I like the idea of better quality leather over Limited but the old piping look on the seat wasn't my fave and didn't care for the Overland stamp on the seats either. I do like the idea of leather dash and the darker, open pore wood we see in the Overland however.

Might have to wait to see in person ... Guess since we're going diesel we might have time. Any opinions on this that might help me decide?

She would probably lean toward Billet Silver with me leaning Black Overland - she likes the dark grey arches, but I believe she'd like the slightly upgraded interior of the Overland. Thought I was done with black, swirlies, scratches etc but this thing would look great in black IMHO.

Couldn't agree more and you even get the indigo interior that you can't get on the summit and I really think that is hitting it off.

The features comparison shows the Auto headlamp leveling system standard on the Overland as well. Is that the same as the adaptive headlights as they don't have that listed as an option or I missed it.

I read somewhere over the past 600+ pages that auto leveling is different than adaptive. In my 300, the lights go left and right (adaptive) and up and down (auto leveling). I'm quite certain I could be incorrect on this, as I'm no expert. And if memory serves me correct, Summit has adaptive + auto leveling, whereas Overland does not. I'm sure Marlon, Chevy or Milous can answer this more definitively.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Am I the only person who hates diesel engines?

The EGR valves on these slowly destroy your swirl flaps in the intake manifold and the actual valve itself becomes clogged with soot at around 50K miles.

Also, the diesel particulate filters are embarassing when they kick into the "regeneration" process. This process happens every few hundred miles and the car begins to idle high, making weird noises and expelling soot from the exhaust.

You are advised to wait and let the process finish, which can take up to 15 mins.

I have had the pleasure of driving to get some groceries quickly and the regeneration kicked in...leaving me in the car just waiting for it to finish.

Diesel is awesome, but the emissions BS like EGR and DPF's ruin them.

Look forward to replacing the intake manifold swirl flaps and EGR valves around 50-60K miles if not under warrenty.
