Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

best comparisons i have found thus far showing Bright Silver next to Billet Silver.

Billet Silver Metallic is here!

Also, will tow hooks be available on Limiteds? Look to be only options for Laredo E and Overland. Catching up on posts and my memory banks are telling me somebody discussed this already but I'm not finding it.

Thanks again to all for their time and input and willingness to address our questions.
The jeep will come with 8.4 inch screen. No way it wouldnt. Its a function that is not available yet and i think it has to do with the wifi hotspot connectivity. Which sounds like its a huge waste of money anyways. $50.00 a month? Hahaha yeah ok. And i thought onstar at $200 a year was outrageous!

I was curious about that, too.

I went over the extensive .pdf out of curiosity and solely based on that, I couldn't find any package for the Limited that contained them - and they weren't listed as "standard", either.

But more than likely, that is just a litlle error in that .pdf..

Thanks Scott (in regards to the late availability to the RA4/bits/pieces)!

Also, as the White Jeep was a Summit, was the trim work the copper or was it silver in the Black interior?

It looks silver, but it's hard to tell.

Chrome hooks are only available on the Overland (Standard). For the Laredo black hooks come with the All-Weather package or ORI package. On the Limited they are included in the Off-Road packages. Not available on the Summit.

..and THAT'S what I meant.

They must have forgotten them when listing the features for the .pdf - they are neither mentioned under the ORA1 nor ORA2.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Milous,

Scott reported that the headlight LED DRl's are only on in Park mode on the SRT and turn off when the headlights are turned on. Do you happen to know why that is? In the pictures released yesterday of the SRT, it clearly shows the headlight LED's on while the headlights are on (I understand this may just be for marketing appeal). Can you confirm this will be the same way for production?

It appears from the all the B roll footage that they LED DRL's stay on in the Summit and Limited models. Why not the SRT? Those LED's give the front end so much presence.

Black interior = Nador Brown Walnut, open-pore

Indigo/Brown interior and Brown/Lt. Frost interior = Brown Zebrano, open-pore

I agree, GM borrowed the idea the same place the SRT people did. Ferrari

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I have to agree.

I currently own a White Jeep... and... honestly, I hate it.

Dirt, mud, dust, pollen, scuffs, scratches... it all shows up. It's worse than black in my option as, even clean, it doesn't look sharp.

However, the Summit in that bright white, with the chrome, actually looks pretty sharp.

...I still don't think I'll get one.. but, it does look pretty nice.

This is the way they were for the 2012/2013 models:

SRT vehicles regardless of the market destination are equipped with dedicated Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) containing multiple Light Emitting Diode (LED) units. In SRT vehicles manufactured for sale in domestic markets these DRL units also operate in a low intensity mode in conjunction with the park lamps and head lamps to serve as accent lighting.

The DRL units in SRT vehicles manufactured for sale in export markets operate only at high intensity to serve as the DRL, and are turned OFF when the front fog lamps are illuminated.

I'd have to check to see if anything has changed for 2014, detailed info is not available yet. Maybe Scott could check with one of the engineers at the show tomorrow.
