Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Thanks Milous, as usual, highly appreciated. This will be a very useful feature. That's what I would describe as a stop and go function but I assume that this function is not designed to avoid collisions, ie it's not an emergency break function, right?

Thanks in advance!

I'm shocked given they are making the Jeep their luxury SUV brand yet the dodge charger has this option on it. Not smart Chrysler. They need to take the Jeep brand and make it the brand no SUV maker can beat with standard features, etc. Seeing a Dodge with this over a Jeep is sad.

Let us know if you hear anything on that matter. Maybe they will surprise us or it might just be wishful thinking...

Actually I don't think that this feature is really relevant to the market, although some people might like it. It is surprising though that a company that has this feature in stock does not put it in all relevant models. But I don't care....

Cool, thanks, Milous!

MY15 would be "just in time" for my plans..

It's great to see that even after the massive list of improvements/features that will be introduced for MY14, Jeep is still going to keep on improving the vehicle over the next MY(s). seems they really figured out a way to keep sales high.

Since this is already a new and obviously confirmed "tidbit" for MY15, what about a "2015 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes"-thread?

Seems like they took note to Apple's business model.

Thats awesome!!! I use adaptive cruise very often and if I remember correctly it automatically cancels adatpive cruise somewhere around 20-25mph then you need to take over.
I have adaptove cruise on my 2012 Overland I really like it, but I do have a few gripes about it that will hopefully be worked on for the 2014+ models.
I know its a computer and it can only do as its designed to do, but one thing that drives me nuts is that it seems like it scans an area just a little too wide out in front of the car. For example, if im using adaptive cruise and the car in front of me veers into a turn lane and slows my Jeep will continue to slow behind that vehicle even after it is 100% in the other lane. It makes me look like an idiot because my Jeep starts slamming on the brakes with not a single vehicle in front of me. Not sure if the system "locks onto" a vehicle and thats whats causing it to keep following that vehicle, or if it simply scans an area thats too wide out ahead.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Your average customer isn't going into the dealer when the order banks open to place an order. They typically wander in after the vehicles are on the lot and they can chekc them out/take em for a spin.

The Dealer Reveal is done to allow the dealer to kick the tires and get to know the new features/changes, and then place orders.

You'd time a public reveal after the dealers have had a chance to check them out, so THEY don't get slammed with questions and have little to no answers (like availability, pricing, features, etc...)

Now, for folks like us, that probably know more about the MY14 Jeeps than the Dealers... it's a bit different.

Yes, indeed!

My assumption is that we'd see all or some of the current SE models (Altitude, Trailhawk, SRT8 Vapor/Alpine) though it'd be great to see new additional SE models available!

@ Milous

Great to be updated in such a professional manner. Would be happy if that would be the same with the german VW Forums.

Great to hear that th full stop/ resume ACC is to come at the 2014 model. That is one of the things wich let me doubt a littlebit about the GC, since i do have it in the Touareg and definitely would miss it if not present.
So another good news for me.

Happy Weekend

Achim
