Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

hmmmm I was just looking at local diesel prices here in Charleston WV.

regular: 3.45
mid: 3.57
premium: 3.69
DIESEL: 4.29

I dont think I'd ever break even with diesel always above the $4 mark, cheapest I have seen diesel in my area is about 3.79.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Silly question here: I was checking the '14 SRT Owner's manual that was posted on another thread to check which rear bulbs are LED and which aren't, and when reading the "bulb replacement" chapter about the liftgate tail lights, the instructions say "open the flipper glass" (page 510)...

So is there hope for all the flipper-lovers out there?

Apart from this, I'm afraid the aftermarket LED bulb vendors will still have some business coming their way from '14 owners: the break/turn and backup tail lights are incandescent...

On average for most area's and mileage it would take almost 4years to break even. Not many folks keep cars that long nowadays.

To buy the Overland CRD the way I want it would cost me (msrp anyway) $54k ...that's $8k less than I paid for...my 2500 square foot house in excellent shape with hardwood floors, new mechanicals, and roof in June of 2012...I plan on keeping it more than 4 years as I would the CRD. We are a 2 car family the CRD would be the family truckster for 4 or 5 years then become the work rig and depending on the new JGC would be replaced with another...We are talking about a huge investment whether or not you buy the CRD or not if you wanted the diesel buy the diesel...in the grand scheme of things we are talking about pennies.

Take that house off road at high altitude while towing a 5000 pound Jeep and let us know how that works out for you. Think Outside

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Does anyone know, If one orders a V8, IS the QDrive2 automatically added? That was the case for '13 orders but I am not sure if that is the case for the '14 model. Many thx

Seriously...if you ask the question in 1 thread you don't need to repeat it in another..

I'm not saying the price is too high I'm saying everyone seems to be worried about payback...I want to be perfectly clear here when I say this...with a modern production vehicle (barring a lawsuit or accident settlement) you will never achieve payback...drive it till the wheels fall off ,then put em back on and drive some more.
