Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

If you buy the Overland, you can get the QD II as an option, you don't have to buy the whole Off Road 2 package. It costs one large extra but probably worth it if your going to see any snow or ice.
If you buy the limited, I think your sol for the QD II.

As far as I can see, if you really want the diesel, get the diesel. Five grand now a days is not really that much anymore. (unless your on a kd diet)

See... here's how you fix that.

You talk so endlessly about the Jeep, that the wife becomes fed up with hearing anything about "the damn Jeep" and eventually it becomes "When are you buying this thing? I assume you will shutup about it and won't be buying anything new for 10 years?"

As such, my wife doesn't care what I spend on the car, so long as I don't bankrupt myself.

Sounds like we've been having the same conversations! I've been lusting after a diesel GC for years now, and the wife has been pretty good about listening to me ramble now that it's actually coming to market.

That said, those MSRP numbers have cooled my jets a bit. Based on my estimates, the Overland I desire would run between $49,276.42-$49,795 after the $1k destination fee, assuming I can get 2% under invoice. That's about $5k more than I was anticipating, even when factoring in a bump for the diesel.

Chevy, when's the factory delivery option going to be available? I'll set aside $100 of the destination fee I'd save for your beer fund!

I'm guessing you slam the shifter to the right (to activate the paddles), mash the gas, watch the tach, and flick the paddle as required, wait then repeat as necessary.

LOL, same conversations going on here... she's getting tired of hearing about it but isn't quite at the "just go get the damn thing" stage. I too was expecting (or hoping) to be around $45/46k with Overland and diesel but I seriously doubt that even 1% under invoice will get me there from an MSRP of $52k.

Marlon said he likes to squeal the tires on the CRD's in the factory... maybe we can bribe him to drive our rigs out for us...

I personally would love to fly out and pick my rig up at the factory, but it sounds like that is nearly impossible.

I may opt to buy from Pat and drive cross country with the new toy.

Though I suspect the wife may draw the line at that...

Just remind her that you get to write the Sales tax off your federal taxes!

Honey! The more I spend, the more we write off (next year).

I think you and I work at the same place. How about we setup a nerd convoy back to Redmond?
