Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Drove a Volkswagen Touareg TDI 8 speed tonight and was really impressed ... Sold me on the CRD diesel in the GC should we go that direction. Almost wished I hadn't though because the Touareg was a really nice ride! Pricy though at $60k for similarly equipped to Grand Cherokee (GC would actually have more options).

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I've searched for two days now...I found http://www.wk2jeeps.com/2014/2014_wk...ailability.pdf But what are the options in the "$1700 E package"?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Question on the 4 wheel low in QTII and QDII.

I read that in order to get into 4 wheel low you need to be coasting at 3 - 5 mph. Prior vehicles I owned you had to be standing still.

Does this mean if you are in 4 wheel high and get stuck you can't switch to low until you get moving again? That makes no sense to me.

That's a 'lil screwball. Here's the quote from the '13 manual and from all the "command-trac, selec-trac, quadra-this quadra-that" Jeep vehicles I've owned in the past:

Shifting Procedures
4WD HI To 4WD LOW
With the vehicle at speeds of 0 to 3 mph (0 to 5 km/h), the
ignition switch in the ON position or the engine running,
shift the transmission into NEUTRAL, and press the
“4WD LOW” button once on the transfer case switch. The
“4WD LOW” indicator light in the instrument cluster
will begin to flash and remain on solid when the shift is

complete.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Thanks Al,

Either what I read was wrong, or more likely I read it wrong.

0-3 is a lot different than 3-5.

I've switched over a number of times standing still and it works fine.

It has been a long time, but I recall our WJ w/QD suggested you be moving ~3MPH when shifting into 4lo. To be honest I don't recall if you had to be moving or if it was just ok if you were moving.

Off topic here, but anyone else dream that they put the CRD, 8 speed and the 8.4 in the Wrangler?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

How many Limited and Overland fans are opting for the Advanced Technology Group? Is it worth the $$$??
