Based on the initial reaction on the board, I guess others felt the same way and jumped on that initial conclusion, too. However (after my initial "shock"), I decided to have a closer look and compared it to the current Summit and came to the conclusion that - while the location where the Chrome was applied - the amount practically stayed the same.

I also believe that the initial pictures of a red Summit didn't help too much, either. That color is an optical "Chrome Booster". In addition to that, I also think that the limited number of Summits on the road - and therefore, limited numbers of Summit pictures - caused us to "forget" how much Chrome there actually is/was.

But I do understand what you were saying. I'm not a fan of compromises when it comes to my ride. My "perfect" Jeep would probably have been the exterior of the Overland with all the features of the Overland and Summit combined.

So I have to pick what's more important to me and since I'm not an off-roader, I decided on the Summit with the grey color to soak up the chrome-effect as much as possible.
Congratulations! Have great fun and joy with your new Summit! All the best, Guennik

I have to think they somehow did it for aesthetic or supply reasons and not cost reasons, because all Dodge Darts have them but apparently not even the Summit or SRT models will have them.

Apparently it'll be the same fob used by the other new CJD models: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Just so I'm clear (and I apologize if this has been asked before): as of right now, there's no way to get a Limited with a pano sunroof, right?

There is but you would have to get the Luxury Package. It is not an option by itself

Milous,

wk2jeeps and this thread have the CRD compression ratio listed as 15.5 to 1. Unless the ratio was changed for the US market it should be listed as 16.5 to 1.

Does the key pop out of the side like Mazda fobs or is there no more key at all now?

I'm don't think there is a key at all. Foot on brake, push button, go.
