Hopefully they have not changed this on the '14 WK's - on some Chrysler vehicles that have made the start button non-removable.

The Start/Stop button can't be removed!

Here is how you would start the vehicle with a dead fob:

Quote:
In case the ignition switch does not change with the push of a button, the RKE transmitter (Key Fob) may have a low or dead battery. In this situation a back up method can be used to operate the ignition switch. Put the nose side (side opposite of the emergency key) of the Key Fob against the ENGINE START/STOP button and push to operate the ignition switch
It's probably using NFC (near field communication) between the button and the fob to let you start the vehicle. NFC requires contact to work, hence touching the button with the fob. Also, with NFC only one of the 2 items has to be powered, in this case the button.

I know the 11-13's are like this but the button has changed on the 14's. Does anyone know if this is still possible to remove the button and insert the key on the 14's?

Edit: nermnd....

Does anyone know if the Brilliant Black from MY2005 would be the same as the Brilliant Black for the 14?

You could compare the paint code and be sure. There was a thread about colors somewhere around here...
