Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Were the programmers smoking something other than cigars? This, from the 2014 Owner's Manual, is the process to clear the 'oil change reminder'.

1. Without pressing the brake pedal, press the ENGINE
START/STOP button and cycle the ignition to the
ON/ RUN position (Do not start the engine.)
2. Fully depress the accelerator pedal, slowly, three times within 10 seconds.
3. Without pressing the brake pedal, press the ENGINE
START/STOP button once to return the ignition to the
OFF/LOCK position.

NOTE:
If the indicator message illuminates when you start the vehicle, the oil change indicator system did not reset. If necessary, repeat this procedure.

That's actually really similar to what you have to do in the WK...

Surprised no one was talking about this, maybe on another tread

• Staying current with infotainment technology boosted the cost of the Grand Cherokee update for the coming 2014 model that was unveiled at the Detroit show last week. The cost run-up helped push three other models set to make their debuts this year off the table — two small cars and a small crossover SUV.

"None of those are coming in 2013," Marchionne said. "The level of money that's been spent on this Grand Cherokee ... this is a brand new car."

CEO Marchionne says Chrysler must stay hungry

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I took his cost comment to be related to the design and engineering costs, not necessarily the consumer costs. Good to know they invested a lot in this update. Also sounds like a little scope creep on what they did on this update, good for us that are considering a '14

In three years a GC will cost what a Range Rover costs today. Who knows what they will cost in three years.

Range Rovers are getting more and more expensive. A Range Rover Sport starts at 62k and tops out at 92k. The big Range Rover starts at 84k and tops out at 152k.

SINGLE DISC REMOTE CD PLAYER (RH1) N/A W/AEK

Does anyone know where exactly this is mounted? Is it removable when not in use?

Probably in the center console, that's why you can't get the BluRay player as well.
