Wow! Good info! Scott, are the "regular" headlight housings on the Laredo and base Ltd kind of blacked out inside? The one pic milous posted looked that way. I agree, either should be cool. I am even in the rare camp that likes the "step" in the HIDs. Whether I get an optioned out Laredo like i have now, a base Ltd or a Ltd with HIDs is gonna come down to what I get out of my 2012 me thinks.

Is there a work-around?

I haven't looked much into but I believe the "lockpick" is a work around you can install. Think it cost $200-$300. I'm the same way with the wife doing the work while I drive. Once it becomes available for the new one I'll most likely pick one up.

Curious if/how that would work with the ra4 with the dead reckoning/gyro/accelerometer enhancement.

I thought I read some however that the new systems have voice command and could have sworn that the company Nuance was involved. The founder of Nuance was involved with Apple on the Siri development if I remember correctly.

Anyway, chances could be the voice command system may be good enough to not worry about any touchscreen lockout. Hoping so anyway.

Thanks - you give me hope.
Voice command would have to work a lot better than my Garmin 3590 to be practical. Also wonder if the mic will pick up the passenger well.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Figured this post is better here then on the ordering thread that was just talking about the black plastic under the headlights.

Unlike a lot of people it seems, I'm ok with the headlight washers where they are. I see a lot of cars with them on the bumper. Personally I hate the look of those nubs on the bumpers. I prefer nice smooth panels with as little break as possible.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Tony,
The problem isn't with the washers. It's the fact that cars without washers have what is basically a filler piece, with no option to buy washers.
